Brentwood Oaks

Worst apartment I have ever lived in and I have lived in several! There are several insect issues. Cockroaches, flies, fleas! My inside cat had to suffer through fleas. WHERE WERE THEY COMING FROM!?!?!? My patio was rotting and has caused mold to form on the walls on the inside. Who knows what it has done to the inside of the walls. And I am sure they will just paint over this mold so the new tenants won't notice it. My bedroom window would leak when it rained. It took over a month to finally have the issue taken seriously and I don't know if it is actually fixed since I moved out after that. All the closet doors are cheap and do not work. The managers have no plan to fix this issue because it would cost too much. Now after moving out, I get a phone call saying that I am being charged to replace the carpet because of a flea infestation. I did not have this issue when I lived there and do not believe they have even tried to have the apartment sprayed. They just want to charge me to have new carpet put down so they can get new tenants in there ASAP to suck more money away from people. I have moved to a nicer complex and do not have fleas on my INSIDE cat anymore so who's issue is this really?? On my last day of my lease, there were dead bugs all over the bathrooms since I hadn't lived there in a week. GROSS!!! These apartments look awesome on the outside but aren't worth it. Also, if you decide to still rent from this place, get a top floor apartment because the walls are so thin you can hear everything from the person above you! Also, during the winter, they did not take care of the hill. There were several times I couldn't leave because they wouldn't put salt down on the ice. Thanks. more

My girlfriend and I have lived at Brentwood Oaks for ten months now and plan on finishing our 13 month lease and potentially re-leasing. The reason why I got back on this website was to look at the three bedroom floor plans to see if we wanted a bit more space. After reading a few of these reviews I wanted to set a few things straight. Yes, someone was murdered but things like that happen. In the past ten months we have not had any problems with crime. There is a police officer that lives at the complex and he appears to have a great time busting peoples butts at the pool for breaking the rules. The guy is a stiff, but he does his job very well and prevents any misconduct from occuring. The pool is amazing and is the best in Nashville. Due to it being on a hill (with a beautiful view) it stays very cool during the hot months. I use the workout center about 2-3 times a week and it gets the job done. Treadmillss, free weights, and a universal machine is as good as it gets. The staff is very friendly and have been completely honest with us. The maintenance crew gets the job done and have been very timely. The only problem that I can even think to write about is a bug problem. We keep the apartment pretty clean and we have to spray the apartment ourselves every month. The area is surrounded by woods and animals/bugs really do not have much of a choice of where to go. God where do I begin. First off last summer there were 2 murders and the management never told us what happened or what came of it. Second the gate works one minute and not the next and will even close on your car even after you swipe the card. Third there was a robbery in our building this past weekend and the one neighbor who saw everything was ""to scared"" to call the police and the management basically said ""sorry hate it for you"". Horrible customer service point blank, they just don't care and all they want is your money. I will tell everyone I know that that apt complex needs to go out of business ASAP. My husband and I lived here for a few months. I would not recommend renting here, they are not resident friendly, and there is bad crime in the area. The security gate does not work, and neither do the cameras psoted around the entrance. more
