I've been bringing pants, leather jackets, jeans etc here for years and with each positive experience chose to bring my wedding gown here for alterations after poor service during purchasing from the Wedding Gallery. My Dress is perfectly bussled and hemmed after the first try! Everything was so simple the groom and my mom went there for their alterations too. All tailored beyond expectations!!!! Can get a little pricy but is worth it! more

I have been going here for years and have never had a bad experience. They do all my alterations on my dresses, slacks and jackets as well as the alterations on my husbands jackets and slacks. They are meticulous in their measurements and are always happy to see you. more

I had a polo tailored to fit my midsection better, and wow--it turned out great. The main lady put a few pins in, and I get my shirt back fitting the way it should. I also had 2 pairs of dress pants tailored here, and they turned out great. The stitching looks like brand new, and the pants fit me like they were made for me...well, they kind of were after Brentwood Alteration was through. I ordered an evening gown online and had 5 days to get it altered prior to my cruise. After reading the reviews online, I decided to take it to Ms. Do and I am so glad I did. It was a very intricate gown and not easy to work with. I had the bust, waistline and length altered. I was rather nervous to see how it would fit me, but Ms. Do did an incredible job and it fits me like a glove. Very flattering. Took an overcoat into be tailored. It was big on me, but I had no idea how big. They re-cut the coat and sized it perfectly to fit like a glove. Unlike other tailors I have used, you can't even tell it's been altered. Even had me go in for a fitting mid-way through the process (haven't done so since getting a custom suit made from scratch in Hong Kong- very professional). Definitely the best tailor around. I could not be more pleased with the quality of service and workmanship at Brentwood Alteration and Tailor. After buying my wedding dress out of state, I was worried about blindly choosing a tailor in the St. Louis area. The reviews on this site were enough to convince we to give this place a try, and I am SO GLAD I did. From the moment I walked into the store, it was obvious that Ms. Do is very knowledgeable and talented. Though admitted to me that she had never seen a train quite like the one on my dress, she was still able to quickly fashion a bustle that is beautiful and seamless. Because of the detailed beading on the bodice of my dress, I was worried it would be difficult to take the dress in a bit at the bust, and I knew the intricacy would likely drive up the cost. Making the adjustment was no problem for Ms. Do, and the price was much lower than I had anticipated (especially because I had already been quoted a price from the shop where I bought my dress based on what their alterations expert normally charges). Ms. Do charged much less than what I was expecting. I brought my dress to Ms. Do two months before my wedding because many of my bridesmaids had been told it would take at least one month to finish their alterations. I assumed a bridal gown would take even more time. I was absolutely shocked when I was able to pick up my dress at Brentwood Alteration and Tailor after two weeks. After my positive experience here, I will never go to another tailor in the St. Louis area. I highly recommend Brentwood Alteration and Tailor. I just got my wedding dress back from Brentwood Alteration, and could not be more thrilled at the quality of their workmanship. Not only does it fit like a glove, but the alteration was done so professionally that it is literally impossible to tell where the dress was taken in. Loan is truly talented, and her many years of experience are evident in the quality of her work. The bustle on my dress was quite complicated, and I was not sure how she would approach it, but the finished product is both elegant and easy to put up. I needed to get my dress hemmed and I called many bridal shops and always given the same answer....""It's too close to prom, we have no openings left."" My Co-worker told me about this place so I called and was told to come in the next day. It also needed to be taken in, and it was difficult to do. it couldn't all be taken in at one place. Because of the beading it had to be taken in at 4 different places. They did a beautiful job, and I can't wait to wear the dress. They were all very nice and I can't believe how difficult this dress was and how wonderful it looks and fits. more

I decided to give Brentwood Alterations a try based on the positive reviews I saw on this site, and I am glad I found this place! I took my wedding dress in for a bustle, and it came out beautifully. The owner took the time to show me how to do it so that I understood how it worked and made sure I was happy with the result. It's a unique bustle and looks really nice--not anything I'd seen before. Also, she advised me on the undergarments for the dress, which saved me a lot of money because I thought I would need something sewn into the dress or a new bra when I really didn't. I will come back to this place for any other alterations I need. more

I have been coming to Brentwood Alterations for years, since I moved back from NYC and I could not be more pleased with their work. Their alterations are expert, exquisite needlework, and the costs are really reasonable. If the work will cost more than the result is worth, they are honest about it and don't chase the business. The family running it is very friendly and nice, and will bump up the timetable if you have an emergency. One caveat -- be prepared to wait if you come during high volume periods, e.g. Saturdays or late afternoon with the post-work traffic. Also the parking isn't great and they don't take credit cards. But these are small bothers compared to what you get. There's a reason they've won local awards such as that from RFT. If you want it done right the first time, come to Brentwood. Especially in times like this when fixing something is cheaper than buying new...
