THis bar could be so much better, its understaffed by local idiots, one blonde/ brunette girl is mentally ill, you can see it in her face, the other two guys are flippin morons, and self involved; You never get a drink timely, the patrons are the only cool people. The bartenders also EXPECT a Top Dollar tip or they wont serve you, The owner is an OLD man who has NO clue how to run a descent bar. AVOID this place, and spend your hard earned money else where. This place is amazing, it is a good place to go right after work or just to hang out. They race turtles in the back patio for a couple of hours and they have a huge crowd! They have bleachers and provide a few chairs, but it attracts a huge crowd, about a hundred this past Thursday. If you point at any turtle, you get a ten dollar fee, I think that is ridiculous but hey, they make money off it, and they throw a handkerchief to you and comeover with a bucket. It attracted a lot of guys and yes, women go up to the middle of the race track for turtles and yes, they bend over and to many guys it is entertaining. There are plenty that volunteered, there was even a couple of milfs too. Pros: turtles, band, and the chicks, lol. Cons: parking and the wait to get in more

Really cruel way to treat turtles, BAN THIS BAR>>>> It was over crowded, sexist and inhumain to the turtles. They were left in a circle to race of in any direction only to be harshly grab and thrown back in the centre and this was repeated without any breaks of water for the turtles. Stopped in to have a few beers on a Friday night. A rather ""ragged"" crowd of ""would-be"" rockers and retail business types sat around in scattered fashion. Not an impressive crowd in anyway, including numbers. more

let's put it this way, they will let ANYONE into Brennans. Sometimes that's a good thing, but in this case it's absolutely not. Sure, they pride themselves on turtle racing. I've seen it once. You can't MOVE it's so crowded there, full of shlubby people who actually like to watch turtles ""race"". You'll find it's DISGUSTING older gentleman who talks to females in a rude manner and has them race the turtles while he heckles. It's pretty appalling. First because it seems cruel to leave even the smallest of animal with this man. Second, because it's harassment times fifty. No ones seems to care however, because the crowd is made of people who are so wasted they find turtle racing hysterical. more

Boy has this place gone down hill. Hadn't been to Brennan's in a while, so I went. On a friends reccommendation, I went to see a band play. Great band. Terrible service. I went to Brennans on a Thursday night for their famous Turtle Racing. I brought my own pet turtle to the race. That part was cool - hanging out at a bar with my friends and my turtle. But the races have nothing to do with turtles or racing. The host of the event is an extremely obnoxious wannabe stand up comic. They only want girls to enter turtles into the race, and when you place it on the track, you have to bend over without bending your knees. Then a member of the sleazy staff, takes a picture of your butt sticking in the air. They also encourage you to remove your sweaters and jackets and squeeze your breasts together. Most of the drunk floozies were all for this. However, if a girl did not participate, she got booed and called not nice names. If you're over the age of 21, or a female with any dignity, do not go to this place. It's a very pervy frat guy atmosphere. The food was decent. The beer is fine. They have pool and darts, and a cheesy band. There is a line to get in after 10 on Thursdays. I think the turtle race host should be shot. I discovered Brennans about a month ago, and have been every Saturday since! The scene is crowded and sometimes loud (especially when there is live music), but the people are friendly and welcoming. Good drinks, pool, and darts... even a patio to escape to when you need some fresh air. Recommended if you want a neighborhood dive without the trendy vibe. I'll definitely be back soon. I hate to admit it, but I've never seen the turtle races. Somehow I always miss them. Still, I've managed to have a lot of fun at Brennan's. They've got a great happy hour with discounted drinks and half-price appetizers (wings, quesadillas, other bar food). The crowd is as unpretentious as people get, and the live music can be a lot of fun. Oh yeah, it can be a fun place to watch big sports games. Pool tables, too! more

If you've never been to a turtle race, go to Brennen's. You'll definitely see some pretty close races. more
