Good, not great 4/13/2010

The best menu items to order at Breakers? A Mai Tai and an egg roll. I think the have the best of both compared to other Chinese restaurants in the area. Other than that, I prefer some other places, especially Plum Garden in McHenry. more

First, the food is very good, and the wait staff is very attentive. The menu has a good variety of food, and they give you plenty of what you order. Pros: Food & Service Cons: Dirty kitchen, bath & more more

breakers is a little bit poorly located but if you can get past that I would recommend it for some more authentic cuisine. They are a little over priced but the difference between them and Chinese food chains is unmistakable. more

#1 Choice to eat at for my Birthday 9/13/2008

I love the Breakers, I've been going to it ever since I was 7 years old, and actually this is my first choice to go to for my birthday every year. Their food is always consistent and great, plus the Chinese food is some of the best I've had. The portions are really big, they're enough to fill my appetite at least. The building is very old, the whole place is more than 50 years old and they open 4 pm and on. I'd suggest getting reservations for the weekend, since they are normally pretty busy. What I love to get every time is the Beef with Peapods and the Chicken Almondding. Pros: Good chinese food and service,. Cons: It can be a little dark inside with the lighting more

Enjoyable 7/29/2008

We have eaten at Breakers several times over the years. The food has always been good (though not great). The restaurant is clean and the staff friendly. They have both American and Chinese cuisine. There are other Chinese restaurants in our area that I prefer over Breakers, but you will get a good meal. more
