Delicious Bready Treats 11/29/2005

There are so many different kinds of bread in this world and it can be such an essential part of your diet, that is why it is so vital that the bread products you eat are delicious and worth the calories! I would heartily recommend the Breadsmith, with locations in St. Paul and Minnetonka. Their bread is organic and often made with whole wheat; how refreshing to eat bread that tastes good AND is good for you! Do not come here expecting to find donuts, remember what I said about HEALTHY bread products! However, their breads are delicious and you won't even miss the donuts! more

Breadsmith Ups The Bar For Your Corner Bakery 9/26/2005

Breadsmith, located in St. Paul & Minnetonka, is not your typical corner bakery. With a focus on whole wheats, artisinal, and specialty breads of an organic or whole foods focus, they prove that good for you bread doesn't have to taste like bricks. Of special note is their Chocolate Babka, whos very name brings back memories of that Seinfeld episode. Every Monday, Wednesday, Friday & Sunday, Breadsmith puts out their Chocolate Babka & Chocolate Babka rolls. You have to be there quick though, because they do go fast, and once their gone you have to wait two more days to get them. But the outside is twisted & glazed with sugar crumb topping & the inside has delicious morsels of semi-sweet chocolate, that melt in your mouth. Breadsmith is a great bakery & their loyal clientelle & the empty bins at the end of the day prove it. more

Better Bread 8/20/2005

They are true artisans of bread, but make very good sweet treats as well. They aren't a bakery, so you won't find sugary donuts and croissants, but they have a selection of muffins and scones that are scrumptious. The breads are delectable—ranging from the plain, to rosemary infused creations. I have never had anything from Breadsmith that I didn't thoroughly enjoy. more

Wonderful selection of great breads 8/19/2005

They don't only do the usual wheat, vienna and white, they have seasonal breads, muffins, rolls, breadsticks, fruit breads and pretty much everything in between. It is almost criminal how they spew out all those good smells. It is hard to walk by without stopping in to gobble something. My tip: buy a loaf for later and have a sample of pumpkin bread, or whatever they are slicing. Oh, they have a frequent buyer card for people who buy a lot of bread. more

Best Bread 8/19/2005

I really like the Breadsmith bakery. I think that their prices are a little high, but one can not find good hearty bread easily these days. I especially like their multi-grain and their cranberry flaxseed rolls. Cons: Stay away from their mini muffins, they are not a very good deal. Fork over a little more dough (get it?) and get the maxi muffin! more

Delicious Bread 8/17/2005

I have only gone to the Breadsmith a few times, but every time I left with a belly full of delicious carbs and gluten. I love bread like this, it is absolutely perfect. It is hearty, and tasty. It is also connected to a Jamba Juice. I usually go and get a smoothie then a few rolls of bread. It makes a great meal, inexpensive too! Only downside is location, it's hard to find parking on Grand most of the time since it is such a popular area. There is also a coffee shop next door if you want a latte with your bread. more

A really good Kosher bakery 8/17/2005

If you eat kosher, or if you just like bread, Breadsmith on Grand Avenue is a great place to get your favorite loaf. They offer everything from muffins to focaccia, and at very reasonable prices. Get there early, though; they only bake once a day, and once it's gone, it's gone! more
