(They made me give 1 star to publish this article) I give the doctors a -10, they were HORRIBLE! My fiancee and I had just found out we were unexpectedly expecting our first child together so we went onto the Cigna website and found this doctors office. I called and they made an appointment almost immediately, we were so excited! The office was really quite lovely and clean. The first doctor that I met was really nice Dr. Brasac, they had taken my blood and completed a physical exam. He then came in and answered all of my questions and concerns and called my fiancee in to answer his as well. He gave me a perscription for prenatals as long as free samples. (So far so good, right) Well he then sent me for my first ultrasound at 5 weeks. Generally, you don't even get to see a doctor unless you are passed that, so to get an ultrasound that early is remarkable. Well, needless to say they only say the gestational sac and NOT the heartbeat. They couldn't figure out why my doctor sent me so EARLY ON IN MY PREGNANCY!!!! (WELL IT WAS BECAUSE THEY WERE MILKING MY INSURANCE!!!) I went back to the doctors and they told me that my levels were excellenct and my progesterone was 35 from the previous week, then they took my blood again. Well I had to be scheduled for another ultrasound so that they could try and see a heartbeat (btw you are only supposed to receive two during your entire pregnancy due to danger it can cause to the baby and this was my second and I wasn't even six weeks yet), well they saw a heartbeat, but it was low, 88bpm. They told me that it was good, meanwhile it wasn't, it was supposed to be 140-150bpm. I went back to the doctors again, where they did another blood test. I started spotting and made an appointment immediately. When I went back, four weeks passed my first visit the nurse mentioned to me that my progesterone had been low for a few weeks now. The doctor (dr.castillo) came in and when I asked about the progesterone he said that it was perfect and circled the 35 for me to see. He scheduled me for ANOTHER ultrasound that same day!!! (aka my third vaginal u/s in only my 7th week of pregnancy) Well the doctor walked back into the office saying the nurse had shown him my chart and the progesterone was VERY LOW!!!! They had been ONLY LOOKING AT MY FIRST BLOOD RESULTS!!!! and NOT the other 3!!!! Progesterone if low is what causes you to get your period, so now I had already begun spotting and my progesterone AKA A HUGE SIGNIFIER HAD BEEN LOW FOR 3 WEEKS!!!! The doctor ended up putting me on progesterone that day and bed rest. I ended up MISCARRYING a week later. I was so heartbroken and even thought of filing a lawsuit but I just want to forget the whole experience. It was definetly a lesson learned. DO NOT GO THERE, EVER!!!!
