Great Experience 2/13/2011

I've shopped here for years and love to stop in whenever I'm nearby. Great selection on gear, clothing , boots and equipment. I get much of my camping and caving gear here.They carry much that is hard to find locally. Friendly service. My only complaint is I spend too much time browsing and always leave wishing I had more money in my budget to spend. more

Great Find 12/16/2010

I stumbled on this place as I was passing through and was thrilled to find such a great selection. I usually shop at Ranger Joes or Commandos when I go through GA but really prefer to travel the TN route between VA and FL. Now there's no reason for the GA detour. I found everything I needed at Brainerd Army Store. I had a nice conversation with the owner and the customer service was great. They were all super friendly and very helpful. I plan to make this a regular stop when I am passing through Chattanooga. more

Avoid this place ! 12/8/2010

Avoid this place ! Over priced junk, not real surplus. The real surplus is not for sale. When I asked about an item I was told to call the owner. Which I did three times and was told he is not available, yet I was always told to call back in half an hour, and whenever I did the same thing happened ! When I asked if he could call me back, I was told that he does not call people back ! excuse me ? Who does this guy think he is ? The owner of an over priced junk store. I have gotten better service at Wal Mart, and that is saying something. Save your money and shop online ! more

Big disappointment 5/14/2010

If you are looking for cheap Chinese knockoffs or really steep prices this is the place for you. The amount of true surplus items are minimal and the customer service is one of the worst experiences I have had. If you want good prices and selection go to Dayton/Red Bank Army surplus store. It is not huge but well stocked and customer services is great Cons: high prices more

I was NOT satisfied with this store or their customer serv. 5/5/2010

I purchased some duty gear and was only told that if I had a reciept that I could exchange or return a item. I brought it home and liked it, but when I put it to use the belt kept popping off and the item tore easily without any hard use I just put the items on the belt and the leather ripped. IT WAS CHEAP and NOT worth the money I put into it. I took it back and explained to them what was wrong and he said that he couldnt return it without the barcode. That was bullcrap because I had the item numbers on the reciept. They didnt even care that it was cheap and didnt offer to do anything. Now I am stuck with expensive cheap crap. Cons: did not return item with reciept & they have cheap products more

Excellent Selection in stock 1/25/2009

Large selection of military and sporting goods, including medals, ribbons, uniforms, sports clothing, supplies, manuals, knives, etc. I am currently designing a shadow box for my father's Marine Corps ribbons and awards. Almost everything I needed, except the shadow box itself, was found here. Pros: Very large selection of military and sporting goods Cons: Some things are priced a little on the steep side more

I just went to the Brainard Army store just two days ago, and I bought a taight blade razor, I had wanted one for a long time, and now I have one, the cashier was really nice, and he told a couple of funny jokes. Pros: HUGE variety!! Cons: ... guili suit i really expencive more
