Bradley is a pretty good academic school, they are mostly well-known in the midwest for their engineering program (Peoria is home to Caterpillar World HQ), but it would be infinitely better if it wasn't in Peoria. Wow, that town is definitely what you would call an "armpit". The "nice" part of town was the east side, and that was just a glorified strip mall suburbia...
Back to Bradley though, it was good because the undergrad program had about 6k people overall, so class sizes were small and the professors were pretty accessible. If you like a small liberal arts private institution, it may be good for you, just make sure you are willing to live in central Illinois (know what you are getting youself into...U of I is only 1 hour east and has a lot more going on)
