The new owners are FABULOUS 6/20/2011

Please be aware that the previous owners are the reason for the lower reviews. The reviews since the new owners took over are excellent and that repuation is well deserved! I am so happy that Dr. Brockmann and Dr. Adams bought this practice. I have been taking my dogs to Dr. Brockmann for 7 years and she has taken excellent care of my pack of rescued dogs. We have battled kidney failure, epilepsy, hemangiosarcoma, liver cancer, emergency gastrotomies, and more. The care has always been top notch, the treatments state of the art, and the vets and their staff have always shown immense kindness and compassion. I really like that they offer alternative therapies in addition to traditional medicine. I use Boulder's Natural Animal exclusively for our dogs and are so grateful for their dedication to providing excellent veterinary care. I highly recommend them! more

Boulder's Best Veterinarian 9/26/2010

Dr. Stacey Adams, new owner of Boulder's Natural Animal is my absolute favorite Veterinarian and best I've ever experienced. She's an excellent doctor and acupuncturist, intuitive, warm, friendly and goes beyond the call to be helpful. I appreciate how she listens and asks insightful questions about my cat Winnie. Winnie almost died of lymphoma cancer and Stacey completely brought her back. I feel so fortunate to have Dr. Adams as my vet. I highly recommend her. She's awesome!!! more

NEW OWNERS are GREAT VETS! 9/23/2010

This vet clinic is (thankfully) under new ownership! One of the vets, Dr Stacey Adams, used to practice at Alpine Hospital for Animals, where we have taken our cats for years. We LOVE Dr . Stacey! She is a wonderful and caring vet. I highly recommend you give the NEW Boulder's Natural Animal a try. Dr. Stacey and her partner, Dr. Liv, will treat you and your companions with the utmost care possible! more

A New Era at Boulder's Natural Animal! 9/23/2010

Congratulations to Stacey Adams and Liv Brockmann, the new owners of Boulder's Natural Animal. My aging cats saw Dr. Adams at Alpine Hospital after years of moving from vet to vet, looking for pet care the whole family could live with. Right away Dr. Adams exceeded our expectations by listening to my concerns, by being versed in complementary care, and by offering more than one approach to the issues at hand. But most importantly, she won over the furry ones. My girl kitty loves everything about a trip to the vet, but both she and my timid boy treat Dr. Stacey like family. If that weren't enough, she keeps an eye on my pocketbook. You can't go wrong with this practice! more

Natural Animal blessed with new owners! 9/23/2010

As a former vet tech, I had the experience of experiencing first hand how several area hospitals operate, and, I can tell you that I am thrilled that Dr Adams and Dr Brockman have taken over the practice known as Boulder's Natural Animal. Having discovered these highly professional and comforting doctors in another respected hospital in Boulder, but as a pet owner wanting a more mellow, personal experience for myself and my two dogs and cat, I cant think of a better situation than this! This hospital meets all my needs for a positive and effective vet experience. The practice is small, the vets are knowlegeable, diagnostic ability is commendable, they are open minded, on the cutting edge of the industry, but also very nurturing and sweet. It is all about the experience for the animals- and the environment and energy are such that they feel comfortable and so do I. I've heard other people's complaints about doctor's lack of compassion, distraction, and even poor 'bedside manner', and I can assure you that you wont have any of that with these positive love-filled lady vets. I am happy to offer you my opinion as a professional formerly in the industry, as well as as a current patient who is ever so grateful to have my animals care in line with my values. more

UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP! 9/22/2010

Same old guy 8/23/2010

Wow! I see Dr. Silver hasn't changed and is still the same arrogant, rude SOB he was when I was a client of the clinic 10 years ago. I was willing to put up with his condescension and sneering if he actually helped my pets, but the treatments showed no effect. There are other holistic vets out there people. Some actually have pleasant personalities to boot. more

bad doctor 4/9/2010

This doctor uses steriods far too much for my taste and I have never had any issue with my animal dealt with withthe appropriate chinese herbal medication. For a "" natural"" doctor, I feel like my education as an acupuncturist and herbalist far exceeds what this doctor has done for me. Also, the guy is just rude. Any time I try to engage in converstion with him about natural medicine he treats me like I have no idea what I'm talking about and tries to talk me into taking medications that I feel are over the top. I don't think that his ""years of experience"" as he told me are worth what I paid to bring my animal to him. Pros: the staff is nice Cons: bad doctor more

NO!!!!! 2/26/2010

I no longer want this review up on the site but do not know how to delete it. I have nothing good to say about this Dr. but I will also not stoop to sullying his name. The staff is great. Pros: no no no more

Inappropriate behavior 1/25/2010

Our 12-year-old cat had Diabetes, a treatable disease, but after four months of attempting to treat him with supplements, dietary changes, and insulin shots his condition had not improved. He was constantly unhappy and his quality of life was very low. He had more bad time than good time and had to be kept in a bathroom because he couldn't control his urination and defecation. He was very sick. Finally, we made the most difficult decision either of us has ever had to make, and we scheduled an appointment to have him euthanized. When Dr. Silver (not our usual vet -- we didn't know prior to the appt that our usual vet wouldn't be there) came in to give our cat the initial injection that would sedate him, he told us that Diabetes is a treatable disease and he was very judgmental of our decision. He said this *while* giving the injection. Later, after our kitty was gone, we told Dr. Silver that we felt he had judged us unfairly and that, while we knew he was trying to look out for our cat, he should have spoken to us about any questions he had regarding our decision at a time prior to our appointment. I told him that what he had said was inappropriate and insensitive, and he responded that ""unnecessary euthanasia"" is inappropriate and insensitive. I asked him to please, in the future, try to get more information about a situation before making a judgment. He had no idea what our kitty's quality of life had been or how we had reached our decision, and he didn't try to find out. Before we left, I again attempted to speak with Dr. Silver. I said that, having worked at a shelter in the past, I could understand where he was coming from. But again I asked him to please in the future try to obtain more information about a situation before making a judgment. He was again very rude and told me, ""We're done, "" before walking away and slamming the door on me. Rather than allow our cat to be cremated by this insensitive, judgmental person (who, even though he was so judgmental of our decision, still took the money & performed the euthanasia), we decided to take our kitty's body with us and bury him ourselves. We will never, ever, go back to Boulder's Natural Animal. And we hope that no one ever has to experience anything like this when making the decision to put a friend to sleep. Pros: Previous experiences at this vet (with other Dr.) were good Cons: Dr. Silver more

great vet...i thought 12/10/2009

I previously reviewed this vet as amazing...but after visiting a few times with my pet I realized that while the staff is amazing...the primary doctor, Dr. Silver is arrogant and seems to have very little up to date medical skills. I would not bring my animals back to him if he was the last vet on earth. Do yourself a favor, find another holistic vet in the boulder area. Cons: clinic is tucked away off of the street more

I stopped using them 6/16/2009

I used to take 3 of my cats to this practice, but I stopped a couple of years ago when I found the care to be inconsistent with the different vets there. I also felt they were very expensive compared to other vets in Boulder. Perhaps their thinking is that homeopathic and natural medicine is more costly, or worth more, when in fact it isn't and shouldn't be. This is ancient knowledge and is relatively easy to learn too. I taught myself a great deal of it starting back in the late 1970s. I also found Dr. Silver to be rude at times, though not always. However, on more than one occasion, he was very condescending towards me and my choices for what to feed and how to care for my cats. I felt he was not caring nor a very good listener at times and I felt rushed out the door on more than one occasion. Pros: natural medicine vet, high qaulity food Cons: overpriced, not as compassionate more
