After reading Frommer's from $80 a day....I really thought that this would have been a great little place in the middle of nowhere. I thought it would be somewhere to relax after spending a few rigorous days in the Volcanoes National Park. I was wrong. The innkeeper was one of the most unfriendly people I met in Hawaii. We did not feel welcome at all, in fact we felt like we were burdening her by staying. Poor service aside the place itself had seen better days. It could have used a good carpet cleaning and some paint. When all was said and done, I was happy that we did not agree to spend more than a day there....like the innkeeper was pressuring us to.
Pros: Outdoor hot tub, Away from tourists
Cons: Unfriendly service, In need of repairs, Not a safe area
