FIRST AND LAST TIME!!!!
*I have been to many bars and restaurants all over the world and have never felt so motivated to post a bad review!*
I will never go back to this place! This was possibly the most inconvenient experience I've ever had at a bar in my life! The drinks are cheap but the costumer service was cheaper!
I decided to visit the happy hour with a couple co-workers after work. After squeezing my way to the bar I was informed that the only happy hour specials were miller lights and wings. Considering I'm not the biggest beer fan, I was not impressed by there very limited ""happy hour"" but the drinks are well priced so I ordered my usual Johnny Black straight up and wings. My co-workers ordered a few drinks and wings as well. The bartender asked if we wanted to keep a tab so I handed her my card.
After 30 mins of fighting for enough standing room to eat my wings, we decided that this was not our scene and it was time to leave. I asked for my check. Instead of bringing me the check as I asked the bartender ran my card for the entire bill. I explained to her that I would like to split the bill with my co-workers so she ran their cards as well. We paid tipped 20% and left, no harm no foul... so I thought.
When I woke up the next mourning I checked my account balance because I have certain bills automatically taken from my account as I am on a tight budget this time of the year. To my horror I was in the negative which means OVERDRAFT FEE's. As I went over my recent account activity I noticed 3 ""Bottom Line"" charges. The first for my portion of our tab, the second for the entire tab and a third for $30. Considering I've both bartender and waited tables for a few years I understood the first two charges and if it were not the weekend I could call my bank and take care of it, but I was very confused about the third charge.
After speaking to Adam ( a manager) I was told the $30 charge was to insure there is money on the card. I've never heard of this but I understand they have to cover their butts and this would be perfectly fine had the bartender told me or if it were posted. Adam told me he understood my complaint and advised me to speak to JR the owner/GM.
I called back as directed and again explained my plight to JR. He told me I was absolutely right and that he would try to make the necessary changes so this would not happen in the future. I told him I was happy for future patrons but Im in an extraordinary inconvenience and I felt my drink should be refunded considering the amount of fees I'm now facing! He said no with no other offer to help make this right. I told him that because I was not seeking reimbursement for my fees that I felt that was the least that could be done. He in turn told me "" I will not refund your drink because you should have paid your bills before going out."" Needless to say I was thrown aback by this disrespectful comment! I explained to him that many budgets are tight during this recession (hence coming to a cheap happy hour) especially for those of us who do not own restaurants and how I budget my money is my business. Had I been made aware of there tab policy (considering this is NOT common practice) I would have simply closed out instead of keeping a tab ( which he acknowledged was a mistake on there behalf). He responded by telling me he would not debate with me, there would be no refund and he offered no other form of amends.
