Located at the edge of the Ward shopping complex, Borders Books was one of the first "mega-bookstores" to open in Honolulu. In addition to two-stories of countless shelves full of books of every subject and genre, you’ll find a full-service coffee shop and a sizeable music and video collection.
What you’ll also notice are the students congregated around the numerous tables and lounging in the comfortable chairs. On one hand, that's exactly what Borders is encouraging. On the other, you occasionally have to step around some of these folks who make the lounge areas their own personal quasi-apartment with stuff all over the place. The whole thing makes Borders feel like a huge, modern public library.
