I heart bookman 3/16/2006

So if you like reading books but hate corporate book stores that have taken over the country then try Bookman. They have an enormous selection of used books ranging in anything from travel, art, history, politics, cooking, fiction, and everything in between. The prices are pretty reasonable especially if it is a hard to find book or an obscure topic. I once bought a text book for school there for 12 dollars and they were selling it on campus for 75. Then I sold it to my school at the end of the quarter for 30. Good books good deals. The staff is really friendly and I think there is a website for them to look for books before you go there if you are looking for a certain title. more

Excellent Selection 12/27/2005

This is a huge used boook store. Huge. If you want to read it, they have it. Again the place is quite huge. Yes, the books are used and there's noo coffee shoip, and the blace ssmells like binding glue ( actually, I like the smell) buut the place has as many books ass any barnes and noble -- and most imnportantly they are much much much cheaper thann the other cchain stores that sell brand new books. (brand new by the way, means overpriced and sans character). It's worth the tripp to Orange to find a huge selection oof books at half price or better. more

Good Selection for a smaller store 8/27/2005

Bookman has a medium variety of used books and magazines. They do not carry cd's or movies but if you know what book you are looking for you are bound to pay approximately half of the cover price. The staff is very willing to look up in their computer database to see if they have a book in stock but the variety is lacking compared to other used bookstores. more

old and new books 8/23/2005

Bookman will buy your old books and give you credit or cash. THe credit can only be used towards used books (although sometimes there are nice people who realize you made a mistake and let you use credit for a new book anyway). THe selection is huge and really pretty good. Particularly with the new books thrown in to fill in the gaps. It's a little confusing because there are two sections of fiction...one for trade paperback (i think that's what they are called, the smaller, cheaper editions). the other section is for fancier editions. go here with some time on your hands to look around. more

Good Large Used Bookstore 8/20/2005

The Bookman is a large used bookstore, with a good selection of fiction and nonfiction paperbacks, hardcovers and rarer, hard-to-find books. As with most used bookstores, the selection can range from okay to great depending on when you happen to visit the store. The romance selection is quite extensive and, overall, so is the entire fiction section. more

Wonderful Used book store 8/17/2005

Bookman in Orange County California is a really nice used book store. A large selection of all genres of books. They have a HUGE romance book selection. I think it's the biggest i've seen in any used book store. They also have a very large selection of History and historical books. A lot of collectors editions and signed old books. If they don't have what you need they will put out a search for the book you need. They also have a web catalog of their books as well. There is a lot of parking available and the little strip mall this book store is located is a very nice area so feel safe going there day or night. They are also very helpful and always a lot of people working there so never a lack of help. more

Used Book Store 8/7/2005

I wish I still lived around the corner from this bookstore. They are a huge used bookstore, with every genre you could be looking for. I really like how this store is organized, and how helpful the employees have always been. They will buy your used books directly from you as well, and give you cash or credit. more
