Great Local Bookstore! 2/4/2006

I love shopping at the Book House above the big box booksellers. They still have a great selection and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable enough to recommend books and find them for you. The prices here are going to be what's on the cover, but I think the extra money is worth having a personal touch to the business of buying books. It's in a great location too, with lots of other neat shops around it. more

Great Little Bookshop! 8/12/2005

I love this bookstore because it's locally owned and they have lots of events going on. The staff is always friendly and helpful. It's in a great location too for browsing! The prices aren't very competitive though and I find it hard to justify spending so much money on a book when I can get it for so much cheaper on Amazon - or even heading over to Barnes and Noble or Borders. more

Books for Kids and Adults 8/11/2005

I like this bookshop because there is a large children's section attached to the grown-up's section. My child is a huge booklover, and she always comes out of here with an armful of new stuff to read. The staff is very friendly and tolerant of kids paging through all of the books. I enjoy going to a local seller ove the big warehouse style stores. The shopping center is also upscale and kind of snooty, but the bookstore is great. Support the local guys! more

Next time you are shopping in Stuyvesnt Plaza stop by the Book House. This locally owned, independent bookstore is a great place to browse and buy books. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They have a lots of events and help to promote interesting events going on in the area. They have a frequent shopper program that rewards you for shopping there. more
