My wife and I ate here last Friday evening, for the first time. While the atmosphere is cozy and romantic, we found the dinner portions to be ridiculously tiny. We tried the fish sampler dinner for two, thinking that we would each get a plate of the four fish samples. However, they only serve one plate for you to share, with tiny portions of fish. At $40 for two, this was a laughingly tiny plate, that left both of us still hungry. The overhead music playing was nice, but too loud. The temperature inside the restaurant was also too warm, making it uncomfortable to eat. For this restaurant to succeed long-term, the portions have to be beefed-up substantially. Also, the blood-orange martini and ocean martini were both horrible; neither of them had any vodka in it, and both were sickenly sweet. If I want to pay $10 for a glass of Kool-aid, I can make it home for a lot less. We were first sat at a booth right by the kitchen door. We politely asked to be seated somewhere more quiet. So where did they sit us next?.....Right by the bathrooms; ugggh. So we traded noise, for raunchy smells and people coming and going to the bathrooms. Lastly, after trying the mussels appetizer (which were admittedly, very qood), one chef came out from the kitchen and asked us ""How did you like your 'oysters'?"" Are you kidding me? The chef does not even know the difference between mussels and oysters??! First order of business; make sure your chefs and waiters know what they are serving. If I had to bet at this point, I would say that Bonefish will be out of business, within a year.
