Bonefish Grill

Tried it out due to an Amex offer and was pleasantly surprised. We called ahead but still had to wait 20-25 minutes. The place was packed and a little bit too loud for my taste. We were discouraged to sit outside due to the weather (after seeing the patio I don't know why). Our waitress was great, efficient but without pulling the plates away from underneath our noses. We had read reviews on the Amex offer and were not disappointed. The Calamari appetizer and the house salads were really good. I had the Scallops and Shrimp skewer with lemon butter sauce and perfectly cooked asparagus. My husband had the tilapia with the same sauce and thought it was decent though he didn't like the lemon butter sauce since he thought it was too thick. The best part was the Macadamia brownies and taking it out on the patio. The dessert was to die for, crunchy on the outside and gooey on the inside and the patio was awesome, big and covered. I was so excited to try this restaurant and was pretty disappointed. \r Everything from service to food was fine, nothing bad but it's just like another chain restaurant. One of their famous things on the menu, the appetizer shrimp that people rave about is just like the shrimp you can get at the peri peri chicken place around town. It's just that it cost almost twice as much at the bonefish.\r I would not go back there ever again and would not recommend this place to a friend. This place is actually great. The service has always been awesome and the food is great! The outside dining area is extremely nice! If you're a fan of sashimi...definitely get the large ahi sashimi appetizer. OH, there's another great ap...it's a spicy crunch shrimp concoction...forget the name of it, but it is SOOO good (and I'm not a huge shrimp fan...I usually find it kinda boring). It's wonderful and a much better value than you'd typically get at an actual sushi restaurant. But really, everything on the menu is great. I'm not a big fan of chain restaurants, but this one is an exception. Pros: Great food, decent ambiance (especially when compared to its local competetion) Cons: Can't really think of any honestly...parking is a bit tight though! more
