Bond St. - Miami

Went there when I was in Miami because I love the Bond St. Sushi in NY. The Miami one was horrible compared to the NY one (or compared to Burger King even) - the food was bad, the service was horrible (brought the appetizer and entree out at same time, when there literally wasn't enough room on the table for both, took away our waters to make them fit simultaneously), and they added all these weird charges so a bill that I expected to be $200 was $300. Save yourself a terrible time and go to Nobu or Sushi Samba when in Miami. more

Bond St and the Townhouse hotel are a great way to spend an evening out of the chaos of South Beach. I have read reviews about it being hard to get into and maybe if you go early on a Friday like we did its the way to go. Our res was for 8pm. The quality and flavor of the sushi is excellent. The only small comment I could make is that the pieces seem a little bit smaller than what we're used to getting in nyc sushi restaurants. As far as the decor I loved the small tables and comfy couches and pillows, its makes it perfect for cuddling while nibbling.\r \r Service was great too., ours was very patient with us even though we were there for a couple hours ordering a couple items at a time and eventually had almost the whole menu.\r \r some of our favorites were the lobster tempura, scallop sushi, and grilled sea bass skewers Pros: romantic ambience, great sushi, wine selection Cons: some people could be bothered by the low lighting more

Fantastic, investive sushi, outstanding service, really hip environs and a well-selected wine list. Price are high, but not as high as many other places in South Beach in terms of the overall check. Highly recommend all of the traditional fish sushi, plus the beef tataki, eggplant appetizer and the sundried tomato and avocado maki. Desserts didn't look too exciting. The place is very romantic... a bit hidden but near all the action. Has a bistro feel - small table, close quarters, couches and small single bench seats. A few people in the cafe can make the place quite loud. The menu is amazing - great wine list, too. Loved everything we ate. The service is fair and the wait staff has a bit of the infamous SOBE attitude (which is not a good thing). Prices are high for sushi - but you are paying for the experience, too. Dined in this very trendy, small yet roomy, sushi place and enjoyed every bit of it. Location is very confidential and located downstairs of the ""Townhouse"" but once you're in, you never want to leave. Expect to pay but not as much as others nearby. It is fair priced, but well worth the cash. Every sushi dish has its own dipping sauce for flavors that will astonish you. Have a drink or two, as their martinis will hit the spot. Love this place, I eat here every time I visit South Beach. Great Green Tea Martinis and the best eel I have ever had. Spicy Tuna Roll with Chili Mayo is a must. Hard to get a table sometimes due to size of restaurant but when you do you are nicely surprised with the delicious food, drink and cozy atmosphere. Highly recommended! I am a regular at the Bond Street when in NYC so decided to give this one a try. The experience was mixed. Food was first rate...Service was terrible. Waited an hour or so for table at the bar, hostess then told us we would be seated in ""a few minutes."" The ""few minutes"" became another thirty minutes. Aftger being seated, server took fifteen minutes to take a drink order. After we complained, our first round of drinks was on the house. Then in an attempt to redeem themselves, hostess planned to surprise us with comp dessert....but inattentive server accidently put the dessert on the bill, which she gave to us before the dessert arrived. Though overall it was a bad experience, I appreciated the attempts to make us happy with the commplimentary items. I always recommend the Bond Street in NYC and would give this one another try. The food was amazing, especially the Lobster roll. Avoid the seabass skewers unless you really love a lot of salt. The atmosphere is really fun and the music is great. The service is by no means prompt so don't even go in expecting it. The crowds at Bond Street really pick up after 10pm so if you want the total Miami experience, go around that time or a bit later. more
