Those of us who have tried it felt ""ripped off"". 7/16/2009

We got the lunch ""special"". The lunch was, well--awful. I had tea, she had a coke. The ham sandwich and the beef sandwich were, as my mother would say, ""slapped together"". Mine, the beef ( The Nelson) had nothing but a miserly piece of beef with a couple raw onions between flat slices of bread, My friends Croque-monsieur was hardly more--just a stingy bit of ham and ordinary cheese with mayo instead of French butter. To say the sandwiches were nothing like those of the same name in France would be an understatement. The salads, though very small, tasted alright. And this cost me thirty dollars! We left vowing to never return. Ever. Pros: The desserts Cons: ""not worth it"". more

Best quiche, bread, and fresh French pasteries! 9/7/2006

You have to try out this fabulous authentic French restaurant/bakery! The French bakers and pastry chefs whip up the most delicious breads (my favorite is the Four Fruit bread and Rosmary/Lemon) and sumptious pasteries and real fruit tarts. The chocolate-almond croissants with fresh French coffee is a definite must-have during any visit. Located in Fells Point on the water, its wonderful to sit outside in the morning or inside when it is cold. To my surprise, you can order breads or large tarts or anything they serve - which is great if you want to bring a large lemon tart to a party. I love the Buche-de-Noel and chocolate cherry truffles at Christmas time, and the King Cake! Did you know they make the bread at the historic Savage Mill? I really want to visit that location, too. Pros: Daily fresh breads, pasteris, quiche Cons: During holidays definitely place orders early more
