Clearly, I should have checked the Yelp reviews before coming here, because the decision that they have the perfect combination of horrible service, faulty products, and illegal ways of stealing your money is unanimous.
I had a flat tire, so I stopped in at the first place I saw. The guy changed my flat with a new tire, but then convinced me that my other back tire was worn out and also needed to be changed. He scared me, saying "this could blow up on you in the freeway in the next 2-3 days," a statement that I later found out was completely false, because I kept that tire as a spare and had it inspected by someone else. So far, the story just sounds like a 1-star review bad mechanic/tire shop, right?
Yes, but then when I went to pay, he had thrown in an additional charge. Honestly, I don't even know what the charge was for, because I am not a mechanic. I had explicitly asked how much each tire would cost before I had him put them on my car, so I obviously was not expecting a huge additional fee to be tacked on to my bill for something I never even asked for! I told him I was not paying for that, and that I would only pay for the tires, but he wouldn't let me leave. I argued with him about it, but when I saw that he was all but physically restraining me, I just paid. When I said that I would leave him a yelp review for essentially stealing money from me, he said "go ahead, you wouldn't be the first one."
There are plenty of tire shops in the area, but if you want dishonest advice, bad tires, zero customer service, and your wallet taken away, I highly suggest you go here!
RESPONSE FROM Bonanza Tire Shop:
We did not do any work we didn't first ask her if she wanted done. I even explained to her in detail what it was for. She did come in with a flat on one side and a bald tire on the other side. The used tire we sold her she picked out, she agreed to the price and it was in excellent condition. We mounted & balanced it, included the tax and disposal fee for one low price....couldn't of been simpler. I did not tell her she had to change the other bald one then and there, but did explained to her she should change it ASAP because in that condition it could blow out. Our job is not only to sell but to look out for the best interest of our customers, that is why I suggested she use her spare. We inspected it, balanced it and installed it on her car , all for just $12.00 a lot less than purchasing another tire. For this I got was yelled at, cussed out and insulted. It's unbelievable how people come in ask us to work on their car and, I'm quoting, "Assumed it's free". I'm sorry but we are a business and as such we do not work for free.
