Living in SanFran,we didnt expect Tampa to fare at par with choices in Indian food and restaurants. Visiting Bollywood cafe definitely made us change our opinion. First we thought this was a franchisee as the concept & feel was appealing to an average indian restaurant goer and the service was smooth and uninterrupted. The choices in the menu were quite interesting and several very creative. Food came in time (20mins after we ordered) and 6 out of 7 items we had,we all liked. The seventh Mango Lamb was not to our taste as it was a sweet concoction with brandy flavoring. The rest I willl give an 8.5 on 10. The manager made sure we were occupied with the magician entertaining our table of three kids and four adults and the bollywood movies playing on the screen kept us busy rest of the while. Cant remember how two hours flew by. The check for the time well spent was $80+tax&gratuity. Now thats a value for my $$$ I admit is rare to find to our satisfaction.Hence the 4.5 stars here for you Bollywood Cafe. Come to California soon! more

Food is best of both world..,Ambiance is a bonus! 9/22/2010

Normally I dont care much about reviewing a place i go to,be a pleasant or sad experince,but I got curious when I saw how this place had been apparently under the attack of few unhappy or highly polarised city folks.Last night was the fourth time in last couple months that I have gone there,this time with two guests, both of chinese origin and all four times,including last night our experience has been extremely satisfactory if not outstanding.The food choices we made have mostly been great and above par of what we get in the city with an ethnic cuisine,the service is always cheerful,prompt and attentive(spoke and joked w the manager last night after we got him running in & out) and the atmosphere is one where we always enjoy, relaxing in the outdoor patio and catching some nostalgia w bollywood playing on the cinema sized screen.This is a great addition to Westchase dining circuit,as I always see a mix of americans as well as south asians here,but another feather in tampa's culture hat!.Clean tables,sumptous dishes,reasonable prices and friendly service,I think I am good with that...and so were my chinese colleagues who left for Texas this afternoon more

Fantastic Experience! 9/17/2010

Very clean and modern resturant. The staff was very friendly and quick. The food was awesome! I had the chicken biriyani and beef samosas. The magician was pretty entertaining. I wish I could come once a week but it's about an hour drive for me. So well worth it though OMG! more

Tampa's BEST Modern Indian representation 5/8/2010

I have been yearning to see the impact of Indian cuisine's influence in Florida..Everytime I travel I end up at a restaurant that appears more like Mom and Pa's desishack..and that was a complete 180 @ Bollywood Cafe.Awesome interior setup..great thinking on combining indian with other popular cuisine-mexican,italina chinese and of course the real 'swad' of home made mom's cooking.Biryani was on of the best I had..rightly priced with the qty I got,abt 1 and 1/2 servings..could not finish and made it to my lunch box next day.today we enjoyed the movies outside,lassi in one hand and a happy wife by the side.Reminiscing days back home with the dhaba and the bandi! Pros: Great Ambience,Outdoor seating and swings + Movies Cons: Need more items..south indian and Bengali more

Amchi Mumbai! 4/20/2010

If I had to miss home again all I will do is drive to Bollywood..Makes me feel back in Mumbai! All colors and trendy..pav bhajji and samosas...lassi and gelabis..and just mast tikka and tandoori!.I came here thrice with my brother in law,for my nieces bday and to treat friends from work..except for some hiccups with bringing the tikkas quick,the service was genuine,flavors right and food delicious.With that in my city,I sometimes dont miss Mumbai..sometimes...! Pros: Fingerlicious appetizers..FResh Lassi and Great Service Cons: hahah...too far more

Waiting staff does actually that - keeps you waiting. They have little idea of what is being ordered. Food shows up at its sweet time - if you are lucky then you may end up getting someone else's order (tough chance as there isnt a big crowd there. Food when it arives is cold. Pros: The atmosphere is good Cons: EVERYTHING ELSE more
