Customer service lacking 4/16/2006

I went here with my family for dinner and we ordered our food. When the bill came I noticed that my meal was twice as expensive than what I saw on the menu. I got up and looked at the menu's and could not even find what I had ordered anymore. I asked the waiter what happened as I now can't find the entree. He said that I had been given the lunch menu and that this is the price for the item. I was upset as it was two times higher and said that the price I order is what I will pay. He bitched for awhile and I asked for the manager, who never came. The bill just came back with the old price scratched out and the actual price that I ordered was written in. Really put a damper on the meal experience. more

Not so good 3/5/2006

We used to go to the Bold Knight when it was good but it now seems to have gone by the wayside, the attire used to be shirt and coat now it's more like t-shirt and jeans, we had to search out a better place. Pros: plenty of parking, staff freindly Cons: too noisey, poor dress code more

Good Eats 9/12/2005

For a mature elegance, I go elsewhere. But the Bold Knight is about something else. A successful effort is made to bring this store to a level clearly above thy typical Denny's, Marie Calanders, take-the-family-out-for-a-change type of place. Familys are made welcome, I'm sure. I've been there for great breakfast and lunch. Tell you what. For folks on a budget, or teenagers trying to impress a young date, this could be it. This could be the place he/she remembers as ""the night we went to that nice restraunt."" Pros: relatively inexpensiv, nice ambience Cons: small parking lot more

One of My All Time Favorites in San Jose 9/9/2005

Stopped at the Bold Knight for lunch today and had the California Steak Salad. This is a Ceaser Salad served with Chunks of London Broil on the side. This is a wonderful salad. The food was excellent. I was seated promptly and my waitress was very pleasant and charming. I received my food in a timely manner and the price was very reasonable. My only complaint was that I was too early for the Cheese Fondue (The Best in the Valley). I can't wait to go back for dinner to enjoy a great steak and the fondue. more

The medieval theme, or whatever it is, looks kind of odd. It looks cheesy but the steak was good. The portions are pretty big too. I only recommend the steak. Pros: steak more

Not highly recommended 3/24/2005

Recently went with a fairly large group and took almost an hour for a waiter to take our order. Drinks were good and strong. Lobster was a little too fishy, someone ordered Kebobs well-done and they were medium rare. Find a better steakhouse in San Jose. Pros: separate bar area Cons: reasonably priced more

I dine out a lot. I like to eat and restaurants are a hobby of mine. This place has been around since I was a child and I still enjoy eating here. Great steak and lobster deals. Always great service. Pros: excellent service, great booths Cons: , weak wine list more
