then the BAM is the place for you! Some of the exhibits are very interesting and thought provoking but some of the exhibits are rather strange and thought provoking. I recently took my kids and they enjoyed most of the museum although we made the guards very nervous! The admission price is fairly inexpensive and BSU students get in for free! more

Culture 8/19/2005

If you are looking for some culture in your life then what better than a museum. Obviously you won't see the Mona Lisa here in Boise. But you can see some art from local artists and some well known. The museum is a nice place to go for something to do out of the ordinary. I like that they have hands on art projects for the kids. more

Hit or Miss 8/15/2005

I've been to this museum about a dozen times, and I honestly never know what to expect. From time to time, their exhibits amaze me. They're perfectly organized, well documented, and just plain fun to look at. But in between those rare occurances, it's a sea of mediocrity. I will admit, I'm no art fanatic, but I can enjoy a few hours wandering through a gallery. Sadly, the BAM rarely gives me this chance. If you go in expecting a huge place that will mesmerize you for hours, prepare to be disappointed, but if you have realistic expectations, you'll have fun. more

a nice place to visit 7/31/2005

The Boise Art Museum is a great place to go if you need a cultural experience. They have great stuff from local artists. They also have great things for kids to do. They often have hands on exhibits for children or offer classes. The museum is located downtown in a nice location. The staff are kind and are able to answer any or your art related questions that you may have. more
