I have never written a bad review of any place ever but I feel like I need to add my experience here to the records of time. The studio space itself is nice, the class offerings are pretty good. I have taken class from two instructors, Cynthia and Ray. Cynthia is a very good instructor, only nice things to say about her. Ray, on the other hand, despite what I'm sure is vast Pilates knowledge, is not a kind person and not a good Pilates instructor - technically or in style of teaching. If I could get my money back for the course I have already paid for I would but I am not nearly confrontational enough to get into this discussion with the owner. I can't help but feel that her teaching philosophy is about as far from body mind 'balance' as one can get. It is a bootcamp style, along with humiliation tactics, that anyone in search of a mind body balance should steer well clear of. She is downright mean to those taking her classes, instead of gently correcting your form the way 90% of other Pilates/Yoga instructors do (and 100% of the good ones) she yells and could not be more condescending and unsupportive if she tried. She also smells of cigarettes. I'm not sure why she chooses a profession which requires personal skills. Steer clear of her classes if you don't want to leave feeling much worse about yourself than when you came in.
