Body Armor

Im a 16 year old girl, who went with my mom and a friend to get my nose re pierced. I have never felt more uncomfortable. The piercer was tremendously unprofessional and took advantage of the fact that my mom was not next to me when I was about to receive my piercing. He continually made inappropriate comments and had me open my legs wide, instead of piercing from the side. In the end I was so appalled I walked out of the store without a nose piercing and no refund. This is a completely different experience than the first time I got it done in Indiana, he even refused to give me a countdown?! Please do not give this DOUCHE any more business. more

It's been a while since I got my tattoo at Body Armor in Jan 2010, but it was such a bad experience for me that I still get really upset thinking about it. I recommend AGAINST this place -- and especially this artist -- in the most emphatic way possible.\r \r I had spent lots of time and money planning for the perfect tattoo around a surgical scar on my wrist, and I commemorated the anniversary of getting the surgery by getting this tattoo done in Kalamazoo. After lots of research, I knew the issues of getting a tattoo solely done in white ink, and I understood lots of precautions of getting tattoos done on/around a scar. I talked to the receptionist at the studio about this when I was making my decisions about where to go, and of course I also tried talking to the artist about this as well. this sint a review or anything i just had a question, see i wasent sure if there was an age limit you had to be and also with an adult. im 15 and i wanted to get my lip pierced. would that be ok? because some places you have to be 16&&have your parent. more

I met Skot 5 yrs ago when I needed my right ear pierced and my left ear piercing widened. I found Skot knowledgeable and sanitary (you would be surprised how other places are about ear piercing). I have returned multiple times for widening and new earrings. I did find it a little difficult to get to know Skot but after you do get to know him he is a really nice guy. I suggest you give him a chance and you will see he is a good guy. more

I feel I need to defend Skot here. I have been pierced by Skot at Body Armor a total of 13 times now. I would not continue to go back if he were as horrible as some of you are making him out to be. His prices are totally reasonable, he has a smooth, quick hand, and I personally find him very friendly and easy to be around. As for his appearance which seems to be an issue for some, WHO CARES! He is clean and professional when it comes to the piercings and personally, I wouldn't want someone piercing me who has no piercings of their own. He always does a good job. He's who I tell all my friends to go to.\r Also, it doesn't make you sound very credible when you rip on him about his personal life whether it is true or otherwise. more

I agree, Scott, the body piercer is disgusting. Attitude, appearance, and work. He is totally awkward to be around and I would never have him do work on me. Not because of his appearance totally, (it is an issue) but he doesn't have the best reputation for solid work. As for Tattoo's I love the staff they do great work and I will be a returning customer. I have had a lot of work done there by Dan, Gerry, and Jack and have got to give them props. But alas, There are a lot of other good shops in town to get pierced at, I suggest you pick one of them. But never body armor. 5 stars for INK -200 stars for PIERCING more

I have had two piercings, two tats and going in this week to get another one! I love both of the tats they did a great job and my mom also got hers at the same time and I like it too! Though the artist forgot to put a flower on there ( it was a humming bird with a light colored flower) He is willing to take care of it for her no prob! It really wasn't that big of a deal he just couldn't continue tattooing her when they realized it so he just told her to let it heal and come back. That's the only prob I have ever had there and to me not that big of a deal. As for the piercing he did a great job and I know many people who have had them done there including me and we have all loved it. And yes one of my friends got her "unmentionables" done I don't know if it was the same guy previously mentioned but the guy who did it was very professional and did a wonderful job! more

First of all the hire some of the worst help imaginable, The tattoo artist are GREAT dont get me wrong, Dan is awesome as is Jack but their piercers (i. e their 'main' body piercing person, Scott) are awful!!!! First of all I understand you cannot judge a book by its cover but would you want a 27 year old man who married a 16 year old girl to touch your un mentionable or anywhere on your body? i think not! Not only that he looks un sanitary and is extremely un professional. I would not recommend getting pierced there, but as far as tattoo goes go for it.. that is if you can handle all the dogs they have running around that place. more

While some of the folks behind the counter are a bit surly, the artists are great. I have a full color tatto that is several years old and as bright as the day I got it. I liked Body Armor so much I went back to get it added onto. Both artists I have worked with were friendly and reassuring, everything was very clean. Pros: awesome artists, clean environment, good location Cons: irksome reception more

Body armor is great, they have a great prints of tatoos ,and also do custom work, massive choice, and also do body piercing. The service is the best, very knowledgeable staff, very talented, personable artists. The prices are reasonable. In a conveniant, easy to get to location & decent parking. more
