The Art Museum 9/1/2005

As a student at FAU in Boca Raton I thoroughly enjoyed visiting the Museum. Included in the collections are always new artists and traveling shows. One of my favorite shows was that on "Hensen." He is a very famous wax artist and is well know all over the world. There display and curation of his work was excellent providing me with ample enjoyment for one of my gallery reports that I did on him for class. The Boca Raton is a must see in Boca Raton. more

An Excellent Art Museum 8/18/2005

There are constantly changing exhibits of varied art media. The permanent collection contains 19th and 20th century American and European Art The works of Degas, Matisse and Picasso are included The history of Photography is well represented , lantern slides, tintypes, and of course photographs There are many lithographs, silk screen prints and etchings on display. There is also small movie theater where Art movies are shown. There is also a very interesting museum shop. more

The museum's holdings include more than 800 European and American prints and drawings from the 19th century, including large-scale contemporary works. The museum maintains a large collection of American art noted for its strengths in the early 20th century regionalism, social realism and development of modernism. The museum has more than 1,200 photography collections showcasing 19th and 20th century masters. It also offers various programs for adults, children and families. Its art store offers a number of gift items, including jewelry, home and holiday decor, posters and children's books, and arts and crafts. The museum maintains two outdoor sculpture gardens for installation and exhibition of monumental works by international artists. Boca Raton Museum of Art is located in Boca Raton, Fla.
