Boca Grande Delivers 4/11/2006

Coming from Southern California I am accustomed to good mexican food. When I first moved to Boston, I was disappointed with the lack of good Mexican food. Then I found Boca Grande and have been hooked. The burritos are amazing, tamales good, pozole good too. I love their chili verde. I love their steak burrito grande...it reminds me of home. more

Delicious Mexican Fare 2/1/2006

If the lines during peak meal hours are any indication of Boca Grande's popularity, I think almost everyone in the Coolidge Corner neighborhood would agree that the food here is addictive to say the least. A lot of people I know are very fond of Anna's, which has two locations nearby, but I think that the flavor incorporated into the chicken and other meats at Boca Grande is much richer and distinctive. A favorite at the Boca Grande is naturally their Burrito Grande with all of the toppings, but don't sleep on their Enchiladas con Salsa Verde (Green Sauce for all you Gringos) or their Tamales - something I hardly notice anyone trying. Try this place once - you'll be hooked. more

Awesomest Burritos in Town 8/18/2005

I used to think Anna Taqueria was the Cat's Meow of Mexican food, but I have officially changed my mind. These guys have the best burrito I have ever eaten in my life. I do not know how they get it to be so good. I think it has something to do with freshness of ingredients, or maybe they just put something addictive in the food, but either way I can't stop eating them. They have excellent platters, too, and their prices are reasonable. Top notch. more

Not Impressed 6/27/2005

Boca Grande is pretty cheap, but you don't necessarily get what you are paying for. I had a burrito of some sort and it simply had no flavor. Everything there is probably really bland and tasteless and last time I checked that is NOT how Mexican fare should be. I heard raves about it before I went and I was just disappointed and I've never gone back. more

Why 4/20/2005

I debated giving this place 2 stars because there are surely worse places to eat in Boston, but in the end I decided on 1 star because I would never send anyone to eat here. If you are going, order the carnitas quesadilla. If you are coming from the West Coast, prepare to be disappointed. more
