Bob's Feathered Friends Inc

You may hear a lot about defects with fish and bird equipment, but I want curious consumers to know that it doesn't stop there. Yesterday I bought a ferret from Bob's Feathered Friends. I noticed her lethargic behavior (as if on Xanax)and an oddity in her walking, things i hadn't noticed before I got her. I took her to the vet who said she looked not only sick and depressed, but strongly as if she had suffered a prior spinal injury. When I attempted to call and ask for birth and health records, they hung up on me. Twice. When I went there in person ""Bob"" was immediately rude and defensive toward me. I found out later over the wonderful internet that no records are require unless you are selling dogs and cats (which is most likely why Bob's does not sell these animals.) Only when I went back did they inform me that she had had a previous owner and that she was around a year old.The vet had suspicions of her being even older. (The previous owner and age wasn't and issue, it was the fact that they most likely lied to me) Not having the money to get her enough help, i was forced to give her back to Bob's, which killed me. Please, if anyone can, take her in and get her some help because hell knows, Bob's won't do it. -For my little half paraplegic ferret, may you someday be granted a wheel chair. more

Absolute Terrible place to do business with. They treat all their saltwater fish so they look healthy there but die within a few days of getting them home. I recently made a purchase and explained to the girl what I had in my tank she told me it was a non aggressive fish. That was the WRONG answer it killed two fish. I called and they said I could return it for a store refund. So I bought another fish and that one had ick. I now have lost all of my fish in my tank and several hundreds of dollars!! Save your money and go someplace else !!!!!!! more

Found a new store called Mild To Wild Exotics 5447 Crafts Street, New Port Richey, FL 34652-3962 (727) 807-7080 ? Look them up. They are just starting out and a bit closer for me so I tried them out. They are EXTREMELY nice people and although the stock may not be extensive yet, it is without a doubt the best pet store in this area bar none. They also don't have annoyingly loud birds there. They have a lemur behind the counter which is too cool!!! more

I drove from Tarpon Springs about 3 weeks ago and made a purchase. The items didn't work for my dog so I was told if they didn't that I needed to bring them back in 7 days. So the following Saturday I drove over there in the rain so I could get my money back. Pros: NOTHING Cons: They aren't interested in repeat business or referrals more

okay. so i have been going to this pet store for over 15 years. the employees are very sweet, helpful, and very cheerful.. i wouldn't recommend any other store to anyone. as far as the comment below mine. i think its just another employee from another pet shop and they have no life but to talk bad about bob's. grow up. there pet shop smells like a pet shop. what else would it smell like? i have never seen expired anything there. so once again another lie. just trying to gain popularity for another store. Bob's has loyal customers that will stay there till the end. i've been in alot of the stores around here just to glance and see what they have, and there staff is very rude (pet supplies plus) for example.. go in there you will see. but away from that bob's feathered friends and more is a family grown business, there are no other stores around here that are family owned. so if you have something rude to say i would love for you to say it to BOB'S face.... thank you for your time :o) and no other stores have all the savings like bob's does. frequent shopper program, VIP ect.. more

i love shopping at Bob's they always have everything i need and if they dont its always there the next week, ive always walked into there and smiled because oddly as it sounds it doesnt even smell like a petshop... it smells clean!!! i would recommend anyone to shop there the employees and bob are GREAT AS FOR WHAT THE LADY WROTE OR MAN 2 REVIEWS ABOVE walk into walmart with just the product no package all your going to get is a sorry we need the packaging you were lucky to be offered atleast half!!!! future refrence not all airpumps are silent hint... put a washcloth under it common sense Pros: GREAT EMPLOYEES CLEAN STORE more

This is by far the best pet store around. Personal service with great advice. A little more expensive than a franchise store but customer service and attention to detail make it all worth it. Pros: customer service Cons: high prices more

A few months ago I purchased small filter and pump, a fish tank, and a beta fish for my grandson. Soon after, the little air pump failed. As I had not kept the original receipt I didn?t even attempt to ask ?Bob?s? to replace it. I just bought a new one for $8.99 plus tax ($9.62 total) When I got it home I opened it, tossed the box and plugged it in. But the little pump was so loud you could hear it from the other side of the house! So I decided to take it back and get different model, even if it cost a little more, in hopes that it would be quieter like the first one. When I got to Bob?s Feathered Friends the man at the counter, who I assume was Bob, said that he wouldn?t take it back because I didn?t have the box! The most he would do was to give me half off what I had paid for it, just 2days before, toward a new one!! Now I must say that I was very upset by this after all the money we have spent on pets and pet supplies. It was not as if he couldn?t have sold it to someone else! We are a very pet oriented family. At the present time we have two dogs, a 95 gal salt water fish tank (that has very expensive salt water fish who keep getting eaten by the eel) Two cats, Two rabbits, a hamster and some Koi in the plant-loaded little pond and a little red slider turtle. The food alone for all of these animals costs a small fortune! But I can guarantee we will no longer be buying ANYTHING from Bob?s Feathered Friends. And besides this blog I will be letting all my pet loving friends not to patronize Bob?s Feathered Friends either! So Bob you can keep my $9.62 I hope it costs you a fortune! this pet shop is probably one of the best that i have been to. they have very nice employees who will answer all your questions. the owner is informative, and they have a wide variety of animals. next door they just opened a puppy store, and the employees there are very freindly. i would definitely recommend this store to anyone in the area looking. they sello all types of animals, bird seed, fish tanks, fish supplies, and anything u can think of.
