Boba locations 8/5/2009

Bobalicious is good with a lot of variety but the prices get steep if you get anything more than one flavor made how it comes (e.g. soy milk +$1, extra bubbles +.50, each additional flavor +.50). They no longer have computers but still offer wi-fi. ------------------------------------ Other boba places to consider are Tong Thai (off austin hwy) who have excellent boba with a very unique flavor and a one size fits all cup (so u dont have to procrastinate on the size as well as flavor). Since they are also a restaurant they also offer food and you can sit indoors or outside with the covered and plant strewn patio that has a very open and comfortable feel to it. ------------------------------------ Recently i discovered Bubblehead (downtown off S. presa) run by a family of very nice people who give you a free drink on your birthday (with ID) ^_^. They too offer food though i havent tried it yet it smells wonderful. Small but cozy. ------------------------------------ Unfortunately my last boba experience is no longer available as they shut down recently. They were called Swish Cafe, located off Fred road just a little ways down from wurzbach intersection. Very good drinks- best price id seen around town and the guys who worked there were awesome! Unfortunately it has now turned into a bar. Blah. Pros: boba variety Cons: price more

Give Bobalicious a Chance! 2/1/2009

I am typically a die-hard Tong's Thai enthusiast for bubble tea in San Antonio, but Bobalicious gives you options to modify your bub tea that Tong's doesn't. For instance, the splenda or soymilk option, both I prefer with my *bootsy* (the taro root with honeydew). Straight up, though, the wait is a little rediculous, not to the point where you're frustrated, more like you want to hop behind the counter and help the poor dude operating both blenders and the register at the same time. Regardless, great atmosphere, casual music, super friendly, super tasty. DO IT. i had issues finding it @ first, but I found it in the Party City shopping center behing a restaurant called Chopstix. Pros: Lots of flavors/ Chill atmosphere/ Splenda and soymilk alternatives Cons: The wait! more

Cozy, consistent, BUSY during rush-hour/early evening 9/15/2007

The small staff is great. They serve consistently great drinks and can always suggest flavors your might not have thought of trying. Free wifi with drink purchase, and they have their own computers if you don't have one. The only time service is slow is when it's really busy (afternoons to early evenings-rush hour) If it takes about 2-3 minutes to make each drink and there are 10 people waiting on drinks, and one person working AND at the register (waiting for credit cards to go through, etc), you can imagine what a wait will be. Don't let that stop you. Relax, sit down, read, watch a movie, get on a computer, and enjoy your bubble tea. Pros: relaxing, great drinks, can watch movies, wifi, comfortable sofas Cons: can get busy, can get cramped (small cafe) more

Great tea but sometimes long wait 6/3/2007

There aren't too many bubble tea places in SA that I'm aware of so this place is special. The staff is cool and the tea awesome but beware that typically there is only one guy making the teas and some are faster than others. I usually don't complain that I have to wait 10 min for a drink on a regular day but the last two times that I came in I waited 20 min and 35 min!! On the latter trip, after waiting, I was told that they were out of the ""pearls"". Uuggh. Kind of defeats the purpose for me so I left. I'll go back (in fact I'll try it out tonight) but I hope that a new trend of 20-min waits doesn't begin. Pros: Great tea Cons: One employee so sometimes VERY slow service more

Great Place to take kids or friends 2/11/2007

Its small but cozy, with free wi-fi for any paying customers who buy a drink. If you dont have your own laptop, there are two desktop computers available to buy internet for $3 an hour. They're known to show various movies from action flicks to kids picks. With 2 couchs, several tables and a few individual chairs its just the right size for an afternoon hangout. Pros: children friendly, relaxed atmosphere, cheap drinks, free entertainment and wifi Cons: hours (open from noon to varying times of 7-9 pm) more

Just Bubble Tea 8/9/2006

Small but good! This place just serves bubble tea and they don't over-ice or over-sweeten their drinks. It has a few comfy seats and a couple gathering areas making for a neat setting to meet with friends. Pros: Great Bubble Tea! Comfortable Cons: Dingy more
