Bought my first road bike at Weavers, a Buell to be exact. They changed the tire on it before I picked it up so it would pass inspection. 3 weeks later the rear wheel bearing spacer was clanking around in the wheel, so I took it back in. They ""fixed"" it and gave it back and said it wouldn't be a problem again. The service department decided Loc-Tite was a solution to a loose bearing in the wheel bore, which they had oblonged when they put the bearing in wrong the first time... Loc-Tite is NOT meant to be put on wheels, let alone a wheel that your LIFE IS RIDING ON! 3 months later I took the bike to a Harley Dealer to have the tire replaced, and they tell me I need a new wheel, and that its not leaving there shop in the condition that its in because the bearing spun in the wheel and could lock up at any time, possibly killing me and any passenger on the bike. When I talked to Bob to replace the wheel, or at least make it right, he told me the bike was out of warranty and that it wasn't his problem... Your service department should have replaced the wheel the first time they damaged it Bob, not thrown Loc-Tite in it to patch it up! I paid $5000 for a used bike, not chump change... And Bob is screwing me over for a $350 wheel... Steer clear of these HACK mechanics and a cheap SOB of an owner.
