colbyone44 ill write a negative review for you but sad thing is its really just the truth,\r \r Brought my 7.5 1975 mercury motor in to be serviced for a water pump, the owner (or larger heavy set fella) who must always be in a bad mood because he was the same way when i went there as well, told me he was the one who worked on the motor, after the fact, because the only machanic they had was (busy), dont think hes a certified marine machanic, no way close to a professional, i could have done just as good in my garage. Spent almost $400 and regret every single penny (water pump kit for this motor is about $75 online). I was just changing my lower unit oil today and it was black sludge, he said he did it, and there's no way in hell he did, when i picked it up he still said it still ran a little hot, but it was more like scorching hot, i fixed that problem myself, but he didnt even run it for me so i could see, because he knew i wasn't going to be happy, and pretty much ran me out of his building, and cut every corner he possibly could. His customer service was horrendous and was just all about the buck. I WILL NEVER EVER REFER BOATERS OUTLET TO ANYONE! Unless maybe they are under new management, its to bad one guy can ruin a whole stores reputation.\r more

I never write negative reviews because I don't like to spread those types of vibes, but I feel compelled to do so here...\r \r I live fairly close to TBA, and I used to frequent this place quite a bit for odds and end boat items. The owner (or larger heavy set fella) always seemed to be in a bad mood. I liked their selection of things, so I kept going back. This last time I brought an older motor in to have serviced. I won't get into the specifics, but bottom line is they reinstalled the water pump that I just installed myself the day before then called and said they didn't have any idea why my motor wasn't pumping water and that I should probably ""parts"" the engine. They charged me 150 dollars and didn't even give me an accurate diagnosis. It felt JUST like I threw 150 dollars out the window. Did not feel good to say the least. Won't be going back again. more

Answer to "Big Al" (Mr. Alvin Beitz, Blaine Minnesota)\r Big Al, it is so shameful that you would choose to downgrade the integrity of our 50 years in the marine business, with thousands of satisfied customers, many have been coming to us over 20 years. Tell the truth Alvin Beitz, you purchased a pontoon that we helping to sell for one of our customers who was sick with cancer, there was no switching of motors, it came in and went back out with the same exact motor. Al you bought the pontoon, and later changed your mind, because your son did not like it. Shame On You!! Your complaint to Better Business "BBB" was satisfied in our favor. (We have complete paperwork for anyone wishing to come and look.) more

My experience with Boaters Outlet, Inc was very disappointing and I came away with the notion that they are a very seedy operation. I put $500 down on a 2006 Odyssey Pontoon boat at Boaters Outlet that was listed at $11,999. After siging the purchase agreement I found out that Boaters Outlet had switched out the 2006 motor for a 1999 motor. I asked to get my money back and they wouldn't give it to me, saying that it cost them $500 to clean the boat and get it ready for me to pick up. I am currently persuing legal avenues to reclaim my $500 deposit. If you are thinking of doing business with this operation, I would discourage you from even going through the front door. Cons: Very Dishonest Business more
