The doctor outlined a general plan which would have been exorbitant both in cost and what was actually necessary. more

best vet around 6/5/2012

We had to put our kitty asleep tonight. It was a tough decision, but it was time. I gave a call around 5, and Lipton answered all of my questions. I called twice more with more questions, and he was more than happy to answer them and was very, very nice. The docs took Murphy back to put the tube in his little fuzzy arm, and when they brought him into the room he was very calm. The doctor, Dr. Steffan, came in and explained everything and took her time making sure we were ready. I left the room but my Dad stayed with and said it was very peaceful.\r \r Blue Pearl made a very hard decision and procedure as calm and nice as they could. I wouldn't hesitate to call them with any pet for anything in the future. more

Good job 4/9/2012

The folks here are friendly. Everyone was very caring and compassionate, especially the nurses every time we brought Enzo back because he had removed his stitches. That staff is so kind and that is such a comfort when you are in an emergency situation. They are so sweet with the animals that come in. It's a relief to know that someone cares about your pets too. EVERYONE at Blue Pearl was wonderful. They were all professional and personable. more

great and supportive staff 3/29/2012

Dr. Averill was excellent. I can't say enough about the doctors. They were so patient with all of my questions, called frequently with updates, continuously made themselves available, and gave honest and supportive advice on next steps. The doctors that treated Strummer were very understanding and patient...and more importantly they were very thorough. more

My dog sheppy was referred to animal emergency after he lost the use of his back legs. Dr Podel was kind and pleasant and after alot of searchng, we discovered that sheppy had Von willenbrands disease. He saved my dog. It took a month and Dr Podell went on vacation but he called me with updates. He saved Sheppy and I have never had a problem since. I didnt think this dog would make it. He is sitting on my feet as I type this note and I am so greatful to Dr. Podel more

Go Someplace Else If You Can 10/31/2008

We took our diabetic cat to the the AERC when she had severely elevated glucose levels. We were given an estimate of a 3 to 5 day treatment that would cost between $3373 and $4273 and told that we would be contacted if it looked like they would go over the estimate. After 5 days they called and told us that our bill was over $5500. They apologized and said we must have slipped through the cracks. When we visited our cat she was matted and soaked in urine. The doctors we dealt with (Dr. Stortz and Dr. Ghantous) were helpful and competent, but this place seems extremely disorganized, and some of the support staff are unfriendly and borderline rude. Pros: Veterinarians were communicative and helpful Cons: Disorganized and unfriendly support staff more

Not Impressed 9/5/2007

I took my dog here for seizure treatments after several people recommended their Neurologist, Dr Podell as "the best" in the area. I was not impressed at all with the care he received here. Once he labeled my dog as a "failure" in terms of seizure control after trying his specified treatment protocols, getting a callback from Dr Podell in times of need became almost an impossible task, even after 2+ years of visiting this place for checkups and emergency care. He was also reluctant to wean my dog from some of the drugs that were obviously not working, instead he kept stacking them off. My dog ended up in 4 AEDs. He favored the use of expensive drugs such as Keppra and Felbatol instead of KBr. He is also not open to alternative/complimentary care. Granted my dog's case wasn't an easy one, but I really wish he had at least return some of those phone calls and show some compassion and an open mind. more

He's the surgeon you want for you animals. 3/9/2007

Dr. Jackson is patient, accomodating realistic and a great surgeon. He recently operated on two of my dogs in the same day. One requiring luxating patella surgery and the other one a torn ligament. He explained everything gave me options and called before and after surgery for each one of my pets. Pros: Get you in right away open 24 hours. Cons: The surgeries are expensive but they were less than other places. more

Very caring, intelligent, and considerate 5/26/2006

Had cat with large tumor in chest. After having horrible experience with Veterinary Specialty Center, our regular vet recommended Dr. Jackson. He was like a miracle after the other clinic. He obviously cared about our cat, took time to explain what was happening, was very practical and helped us try to keep the costs down. Highly recommend! Our cat is now doing great - a cancer survivor!! Pros: staff, caring more
