Blue Wasabi has finally ""Americanized"" Sushi! I have eaten sushi all over the United States, and I feel Blue Wasabi has nailed it. They have terrific sushi and sushi chefs that ...

Worst

This place SHOULD be great. They have a super location and just the right 'feel'. BUT, they disappoint every time. I recently went there for my last time. I keep expecting them...

Good Sushi - Good Times 3/1/2008

We have been to both locations many times and have always had a great time. While it may not be the best choice for the sushi purist, we love the creative rolls and the great martinis. The hot food at the Hilton Village location has been a big plus because we can now bring our non-sushi eating friends. Blue Wasabi is our (and our friends) favorite sushi joint in the Valley. Pros: Creative Rolls and Great Martinis Cons: DC Ranch location can be crowded more

Overrated is right! 2/7/2008

This place SHOULD be great. They have a super location and just the right 'feel'. BUT, they disappoint every time. I recently went there for my last time. I keep expecting them to get better, but they just get worse. They are WAY overpriced. The service is apathetic and lazy. The food is so-so. We had to nearly trample our waitress every time we wanted something - and she wasn't that busy. Like I said, just lazy. I expect this place will be out of business before long. Let's hope something new comes in it's place that has better food, service and prices. more

Another Poor Experience! 2/7/2008

After taking a year off following our first bad experience, we tried this place once again. One thing I can say for sure: It IS consistent. Cons: They treat you like you should be grateful they're in business. more

Worst Sushi Experience 1/26/2008

This was by far one of the worst experiences I have had in over 5 years. Let me explain why: Pros: A few of their outdoor heaters worked, they send non-complimentary surprises to your table & they serve beer (we reccomend drinking it from the bottle, not the dirty glassware). Cons: Service, management, food, ambience, etc. more

The Best Place to unwind after a tough work week. 1/27/2007

My wife and I moved from Troon Village to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.......that's right, the Steel City. Now that we live here, we miss Blue Wasabi so much. Nothing exists in this boring city like Blue Wasabi. I noticed a past reviewer call this a hole in the wall. Obviously, they had too many of Dean Martini's. Blue Wasabi epitomizes Scottsdale life, that is to say, it creates an atmosphere that makes one appreciate life. While sipping a creative martini, eating innovative sushi creations, you actually are fortunate enough to catch the purple color on the McDowell Mountains during sunset. After traveling all over the country, I would have to say it would be difficult to find a better place to hang out than the DC Ranch marketplace. The best place to start is Blue Wasabi. Pros: atmosphere, drink menu, scenery Cons: have to get there early to beat crowds. more

Good sushi! 10/26/2006

I have to say that the sushi is always good and fresh here. Very creative with the sushi roll names like the Marilyn Monroll. The martinis are excellent, try the Milky Way. The only drawbacks are that its crowded because its a hole in the wall place and the portions are small. The wasabi is actually blue and sometimes its hot and sometimes its not.. Still a great place to dine with friends or as a couple. Pros: great fresh sushi Cons: small, crowded, small portions more

Amazing! 10/12/2006

Blue Wasabi has finally ""Americanized"" Sushi! I have eaten sushi all over the United States, and I feel Blue Wasabi has nailed it. They have terrific sushi and sushi chefs that can understand their customers. The dishes are extremely creative and they combine ingredients that the average person could not even dream up. Keep up the good work. more

A good spot for Scottsdale 5/28/2006

Very imaginative dishes and a good enviroment. A little on the pricey side, but still impressive. There is a cajun roll they do that is excellent - very spicy. Definitely a good place to take out-of-towners. more
