First the good part: In my opinion, when conditions are good there is no better skiing in Pennsylvania than Blue Knob.
With over 1000 feet of vertical drop, it is the biggest skiable mountain in PA. The terrain is varied and has something for every level of skier (though offerings for the beginner are small).
Now the bad: Blue Knob is difficult to get to, especially in bad weather (the parking and lodge are at the top of the mountain!), the lodge is a dump, and the snow making is less than stellar.
But despite the drawbacks, there is no denying that Blue Knob has some of the best trails in Pennsylvania.
I grew up skiing Blue Knob and I love it. When the conditions are good, given the choice of any mid-Atlantic ski area, I'll take Blue Knob over all others. Just don't expect much in the way of amenities or.
