The Hot Stone Massage I received was wonderful. It was done by a lovely lady who listen to what I said about my injured back. She focused a good portion of my treatment on my lower back tailbone area. She however, didn't think to offer the elevator they had to get to the 2nd floor where my treatment was. The atmosphere is the worst of any spa I've been to. This is a very small spa and their isn't much room for sitting and relaxing. The only shower is in the steam room. Their was no place to get dressed or undress for the shower. The shower/steam room is also place right next to a lot of walking traffic making it not so inviting. If you can get passed the negative issues of the spa, the service of their treatments is very, very good. more

I was surprised by my boyfriend with a full day at the spa. I thought the ambiance was lovely. I wasn't informed of what the schedule was, so I was not explained to how long or what the services would be. the spa was running behind and I feel that my services cut short, when I am on time... so should they. I was in the "waiting area" between services for 15 to 20 minutes. each time. no communication with why I was in the lounge for so long. I enjoyed the services once I got in, but towards the end it was shortened. My massage was good, facial great. otherwise needed to have communication. my intake form was also left on the table for 3 services. If you have multiple services, make sure you ask questions! You could be waiting. more

I’ve been there a couple times and I must say I would NEVER go back!! On my last visit I had highlights and a haircut done by Laura. All this money later, my hair looked so bad when she was done that I actually left the salon with a hat on! Isn’t one suppose to leave the salon feeling good about themselves?? I’ve been getting hightlights for over 15 years and this visit was by far the WORST. She used the wrong coloring for the low lights so my roots were still showing and different colors from not leaving it in long enough. On top of that, the highlights started so far from my scalp that 3 weeks later I need to get them redone. The cut she did was such a mess that I had to go to another salon to have it fixed! Unfortunately after spending $180 there, I couldn’t afford to have my color fixed as well. I also loved the comment after attempting to blow dry my hair straight.. “well, it’s windy outside anyway so it’ll only get messed up”. Cons: Hair cuts, Highlights, Blow out more

In an economy like this, people expect to get what they pay for. I was recently ripped off by The Blue Giraffe Day Spa in Ashland, and due to this I feel it is my duty to warn other consumers. I went in to buy a simple one hour message gift certificate for a friend. While I was there, I also decided purchased a side by side message for me and my girlfriend. I told the clerk I wanted to buy a gift certificate for my friend. I asked for an hour message, in the name of my friend. After buying this, I also decided to purchase a separate gift certificate for myself and girlfriend to have a side by side message. My message was honored a few weeks later for me and my girlfriend. I am phoned by my friend a few weeks later. She had gone into redeem her certificate. She was taken to the dressing room, and then led to the message room. She was asked to undress and wait for the therapist. The therapist comes in, and informs her that her certificate is not valid. Not having planned on purchasing her own message, she did not come prepared with money. She was made to feel embarrassed and then asked to leave. All I wanted was what I paid for, so I called to straighten out the situation. I explained everything, and was told that they showed no record of my gift certificate (despite the electronic bank record of them charging my credit card). I was then told that they would review the situation and call me back. After three days I called back. I spoke to the same woman, who assured me the owner would call me personally. A week later I called in again. This time I was told the owner was sick, but would be in the next day. Two days later I called back again. This time I was informed that “the employee I initially worked with had made an error, and that she had only entered my side by side message into their computer system”. She did not however, make a mistake when she charged my credit card. They refuse to honor the very certificate they printed and filled out for me. They also refuse to refund half of my purchase. So I gave a good friend a present of stress free relaxation –and she was humiliated by the Blue Giraffe Day Spa, and then asked to leave. Despite the whole mess being their mistake, they to this day refuse to offer her the service I purchased for her. DO NOT buy anything from Blue Giraffe Spa in Ashland. They are crooks, they treat their customers as if they do not care. Pros: They can help you lose your money Cons: They want to help you loose money more

Getting a massage at the Blue Giraffe with Katy is an otherworldly experience. Pure tranquility!! The staff genuinely cared about my experience - it was flawless from start to finish. I would ALSO highly recommend use of their steam/shower which came with my massage. I can't wait to plan my next visit!!! more

After receiving my massage I talked to the owners about all the noise that went on while I was trying to relax. I was so disappointed that a group of people had a conversation so loud that it took away from my experience. The owner seemed regretful, but did nothing about it. I wouldn't go back to this spa. more

You can actually lie face down on the table when you get a pregnancy massage here!!! They have special cushions to allow you to lie face down without putting undue pressure on your belly and you can actually relax with your massage. Most other places make you lie on your side and I can never get comfortable in that position while pregant because I feel like I am going to either fall off the table or my arm is going to fall asleep. more
