Blue Ginger Contemporary Sushi

I have been to this restaurant twice. I like to give a place a second chance to redeem itself before holding judgment and this place didn't make the grade. The Servers act as if they are too good to provide service to you. You need to call them to come by. The sushi is not bad but pricey for what you get. There are far too many better sushi places close by that there is really no need to check this place out. About the only good thing about this place is the atmosphere. Nami and Kona grill are much better alternatives. more

We dined there with two other couples that had chosen this restaurant. We all had a wonderful dining experience and an awful lot of fun that night. The atmosphere is casual but very nice. The staff took great care of us. Most importantly all of our food was excellent. The Mrs has never had sushi before and was nervous to try it. She loved it. All in all, we think this place is a gem in the west burbs and look forward to returning sometime. more

Because it is within walking distance, I frequent this restaurant often. I always leave there wanting to go back. Last night, I took my daughter there and, for while she stated she didn't like sushi, you wouldn't know it from all the things she ordered. We live right down the street from Blu Coral and patron regularly. Always consistent and some of the most creative and delicious signature maki in all of Chicagoland! YUM! more

I love the idea to have an upscale restaurant in the Seven Bridges area. It's in much need of one. I love sushi and I love steak. Let's just say this place was not even close to my expectations. I had the double lobster tail and my wife had the filet migon. The lobster tails were like rubber. Completely overcooked and tastless. My wife's filet's was terrible. I'm not sure where this place gets their meat from but I can find better meat at Jewel or Domick's it was that bad. As far as the sushi goes it was just ok I've had much better. I will never go back to this place or recommend it to anyone. The bottom line is a restaurant must have excellent food to stay in business this place will not make it. Pros: sushi was ok Cons: the whole place, food, service and price. Seats way too close to each other. more

Blu Coral is HOT HOT HOT. I love the modern decor and the fresh music from the amazing DJs. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. They ALWAYS have promotions and awesome events. If I did not know any better, I think this was a popular Chicago nightclub, not a suburb nightclub. Overall it's one of my favorite places to go out in the Chicagoland area! more

OMG!!! Can't believe the review someone posted about Blu Coral.... They must have been confused b/c my dining experience @ Blu Coral (Woodridge) was one of a kind. I'm from the Big Apple and I know about sushi and dining. Blu Coral was fabulous... I wasn't that thrilled when my friend said she wanted to eat sushi b/c nothing beats the Japanese in NYC (Nobu), but she said Blu Coral was pretty good. Man, was I impressed... service was great for a busy Saturday night and the food was fantastic!!! I'm not that big on rolls b/c I'm a sashimi fanatic, but the rolls were unbelievable and the sashimi very fresh. Blu Coral decor is up there with any NYC trendy restaurants and I should know.... been there and done that. It was a perfect place for a date. Now I have two reasons to come back. After reading the reviews I was hesitant to go. Since it is a short walk from our house we decided to try it. We are so glad we did. Everything was fabulous. From the greeting at the door to Devon our fabulous server and the sushi chief who was very pleasant throughout dinner(we ate at the sushi bar). My husband order the salmon and I had 3 rolls. There wasn't a thing my husband and I didn't like. They do have liquor now unlike the previous reviews stated. My husband and I highly recommend the restaurant. Went there on a Friday night had the best sushi in the world - and then stayed for the club after 10:30pm (They move tables out and have a live DJ). We had heard that they were a hot spot for nightlife but didn't expect it to be that good. The crowd was VERY attractive and the DJ's (I think they were from B96?) were playing awesome music.
