Blu La Pizzeria Delsole

My wife and I have eaten at Blu approximately 10 times over the past few years. We've had many of the various pizza's and they have all been good, as are the salads. The wine selection is about average for a restaurant of this type, though a bit on the pricey side. We also enjoy the outdoor atmosphere of the sidewalk cafe seating - it's a commercial location, lively, but never loud or crouded to the point of being uncomfortable (to us anyway). I would have to describe this place as average all around. The pizza was average, cleanliness was average to a bit below average, and the ambiance was below average. The pizza wasn't greasy and the ingredients did seem to be fresh. I just wasn't impressed. For $12 to $14 for a personal pizza, I expect the quality to be better. It wasn't horrible, but it just wasn't great. It simply was average. more

Loooking for somewhere to unwind as your week comes to and end or a quick and delicios bite to eat with the kids, i got just the place for you. Enjoy a taste of Italy in South Miami at Blu Pizzeria. Theres not many pizzerias where you can taste the freshness in the ingredients. With pizza chefs Pedro Bermudez and Danny who have perfected the art of true wood-oven pizza baking, any pizza you order will be cooked to nothing but perfection. Now, to the unwinding part. They have an excellent selction wines as well as other international wines. And not to metion Peroni a world renouned Italian Beer. Pair a nice glass of wine with a Costa de mare (seafood pizza) one of my favorite pizzas or have any of their delicious sandwiches, salads, foccaias and top it off with a delicios coconut flan or Foccacia sprinkled with powered sugar and topped with Nutella. If you want the authentic taste of a true italian pizza without dishing out money on a plane ticket to Italy, blu is the place for you! more

I'm a regular to Blu, as my business is nearby. I frequent the place for lunch and dinner. It is by far the best place in that street. Renato and Hugo are great guys who will make you feel welcome at the restaurant. Usually on Friday's I invite my friends for wine (great selection) and antipastos after work as it reminds me of my younger days in the military when I just to frequent the side street cafe's in Panama's Via Argentina section. The pizzas are also great and the best in comparison to anything else in Miami. Let's not forget my wife's favorite the Torre de Capri with a side of their rosted shrimp, followed by their foamy cortadito and their excellent Coconut Flan. So enjoy! How many times have I had the chance to travel to Italy to enjoy a real pizza? Not many, but everytime my husband and I go to Blu, we feel like we were in Italy. The are so many creative varieties of pizza pies that we are tempted to try them all everytime we visit the pizzeria. My husband was truly impressed during our last visit with the graciousness of the service. The manager stopped by our table to make sure we had everything we needed and to assist us with our kid. Ace service! You don't find this type of care quite often, not even in the ""so called"" fine dining. I recommend this restaurant to all pizza lovers... eat like Italians do. The food here was good, fresh, and made it to our table, but other than that, my experience was disappointing. We were served bread, which was taken away before we'd finished it, and about 10 minutes before our orders came out, and I finished my $1.95 can of Coke, my glass of water, and my date's glass of water before our waiter offered us more water- after we'd asked for the bill, which I had to corrall another waiter to do after we'd finished eating and waited, waterless, for 5-10 minutes. I think the restaurant's atmosphere (much more pleasant and upscale than what you'd think for a ""pizza place"") and relatively high prices (expect to spend at least $15 per person, more if you'll have more than one drink) just made the poor service stand out even more. Blu is a great place from just having a nice glass of wine in the afternoon or having a great lunch/dinner. The pizza is by far the best I had anywhere in the state of Florida! It's truely comparable with a pizza from Italy. Not like those ""wannabe"" pizza places... Keep it up! Pros: Inexpensive, good value, best pizza more

I don't agree with the rating on the site, in my opinion Blu' is by far one of the best pizza in town. I'm from Italy and I can tell you that the pizza that they serve at Blu' is as original as the one that you can eat in any good pizzeria in Italy. The decor is upscale and the service is very good.
