Worse hospital ever! If you want to live go elsewhere 6/18/2008

I had surgery there and I was not given my call light or the control to the pain pump. Staff was in and out of the room and no one ever saw that I had the call bell. I had to go the thr bathroom and had to figure out how to do it myself.\r \r The respiratory therapy department is the most unprofessional department and staff that I ever saw. The females will go around and do penis checks on unconscious male patients and then go back and discuss if they wanted to have sex with them or not. The department head Ted Jackson and division director Ed Getz were both aware of what was going on and did nothing. When coming out of the anesthesia all I remember is that my covers were being lifted off my pelvic area. I had surgery on my neck.\r \r Very filthy hospital and the equipment is marginal operating conditions.\r \r I would not take a dead horse to that place. I now go to Indy for any surgery. more

Great Hospital 9/9/2006

Bloomington Hospital has a very nice building and knowledgeable staff. They have many specialty doctors and truly care about their patients. The ER department is a little slow, but it is worth it because you receive great treatment. Everyone there is so caring and friendly. The treatment I received was great and I defiantly recommend! more

I was treated very well by the nurses and the X-ray technicians ( I had six x-rays). My doctor was really great. His name was Dr Willis and I felt very well attended to by him. He explained things well and got me out of there fairly expediently. So that's the good part. The bad part is that they referred me to an orthopedist and told me to go within 3 days. I wasn't able to get an appointment any sooner than 7 days later. The ER doc gave me enough pain pills for the 3 days. Obviously there was a bit of descrepancy there, so I called the ER to see about a refill and was told theyt would ask the doctor and call me back. 8 hours later, I tried again, only to have the charge nurse say the same thing but not even bother to get my name before she hung up on me. I know this is more a problem of gaps in the managed health system than with hospital policy, but it irked m more
