After two years he left that company and began to maintain yards in his neighborhood during his spare time. What began as an opportunity for extra side income soon developed into a budding business and later became what it is today. When he first began maintaining lawns on his own, Luke operated out of his car, putting his equipment in the trunk. And while this might have looked comical, Luke was dedicated to growing the business and making a difference in peoples lives via the landscapes surrounding their homes. The concept behind the name was simple, to offer high quality personalized landscaping services which would encompass both the desires of the customers and the requirements of their landscapes. Blades would represent the curb appeal of the yard from regular yard maintenance all the way to flowerbed reclamation, shrub and light tree trimming. Shades would represent the larger projects that might arise to further enhance the curb appeal already being sought.
