Editorial review from Citysearch 3/20/2014

We highly recommend Black Fox. We have been coming here for 7 years and they have always been very accommodating and caring. Health care, even for animals is not cheap. Our pets are members of our family and they are well taken care of at Black Fox! more

Great Veterinary Care 12/4/2011

The care at Black Fox is always exceptional. You can tell that these people truely care for the animals that they see every day. They know who my dog is when they see him walk in the door and are always willing to work with me to treat and vaccinate him. I felt as though I had to put in a review since many of them are negative. I must say I have NEVER had experiences like the negative ones described here. My only qualm is the location from my house. but I am willing to drive to treat my dog here. Use Black Fox! more

By All Means, Do Not Use, CAUTION !!! 11/15/2011

I ditto what these people say above and see it has not changed. Years ago, the exorbinate price was the least of my worries. I am still not over the fact that I blame them for killing my cat. The cat was in dire need of antibiotics. Brought in on a Friday, they did tests, but said they could not give medication until Monday, at which WITHOUT the medication is what caused the animal to die...........any other vet would of prescribed antibiotics being it was a severe infection. Their staff seemed unconcerned, it's Friday!!! Any other vet would of took administered the antibiotics stat. WARNING, worst experience ever. more

Despite reviews, this place is good. 7/18/2011

I'll admit that the person who answered the phone the very first time I called could use a pointer or two in phone etiquette. However, since they are conveniently located, I decided to try them out anyway. Our 8-year-old dog was having some major issues, and the vet quickly determined that she was diabetic. They kept her over the weekend to stabilize her blood sugar, and she was improving. We then found out she had other major health issues going on. Long story short, we ended up having to have her put down. The vet and staff were very compassionate and understanding about how difficult a decision this was to make. They credited us back for any medications they had already given to her, and then gave detailed options about how we wished this final act to be carried out. I wasn't rushed at all, and the vet and staff answered all my questions satisfactorily. The vet was also courteous enough to allow me time to phone my husband from the exam room to talk it over in privacy, before we made the final decision, again without rushing me. Both of the vets (they are actually a husband and wife couple) were extremely patient and caring. While the outcome for our pet wasn't what we'd hoped for, we had to do what was in her best interest, and the staff at Black Fox were both accommodating and courteous. I plan to make an appointment for my other dog to go in for his shots this week. Be mindful when reading some of these other reviews. I think some people have overly romanticized expectations when it comes to businesses, and this is still a business after all, not a charity. I don't normally write reviews, but after reading what people have posted, I felt I needed to throw in my 2-cents' worth. Hope this was helpful. more

don't go if you actually care about your pet or your wallet 11/10/2010

I only gave them one star because my pet didn't die in their clinic. I started going there because they looked affordable, but that's where they get you. There is a $38 fee for the initial visit, which makes sense and is enticing, but when they somehow QUADRUPLE the price & say ""Oh, it's all on the invoice,"" its a bit disappointing. I have gone 3 times, and every time I am disappointed with their customer service & lack of hospitality. They would rather not say this is what we did for your pet, and that's why the cost has quadrupled, they would rather just come to the conclusion of why your dog is sick is the exact same thing you told them when you first got there. Aka when you bring the pet in and say, ""He just got sick, hasn't eaten anything out of the norm, and has had diarrhea for 8 days, what's wrong with him?"" they respond, ""oh he is sick, he'll be ok"". WHAT KIND OF ANSWER IS THAT??!? i don't look forward to paying someone to tell me what I told them. Not only that, but they find ways to sidle in extra fees, such as when they gave me a pill form of a medication to give to my pet, (8 pills for 18.75) which was one dose per pill, then said, oh we went ahead and gave him a shot too.(of the exact same medication, 1 dose, for $12). excuse me, but why would you give him the same thing you gave me to give him, and charge 5x the price for it? Not only that, but the insolent girls at the front desk are rude and naive, it seems as if they are just waiting for their shift to end to go party, not really keeping up with the animals & the billing (they lost my puppy's records twice). After asking the girl at the front desk multiple questions she couldn't answer (she would try to make them up as she went along, it didn't work), and her running back and forth to the back to ask the vet, whose head would occasionally pop out to look but for the most part hid, the vet came up front to answer a few questions about what had gone wrong, I realized that the entire clinic is full of people who must have just barely gotten by thru vet school(well the vet at least). Bottom line, don't go. They seem cheaper, but in the end they will cost more than a more popular vet, and you won't get much for your money. I even found the EXACT SAME 'prescription' of what they sold me for my dog's ears in petsmart for half the price. just don't do it. more

Poor customer service 2/19/2009

The reason we started using Black Fox was due to the location. 90% of the time we have visited the establishment we have received extremely poor customer service. The customer service on the phone is even worse. Everytime that the vets have been asked for their advice it has been in direct contradiction of what other vets have advised. Not Recommended. Cons: Extremely poor customer service and record keeping more
