Bj's Restaurant & Brewhouse

My family & I went to BJ's brew house on Saturday September 15, 2012 for lunch. My boyfriend & I have never been to this restaurant before but, my sister who was there raved about this place!! Well, it was a horrible first experience and I will never go again!! The restaurant location that we visited was in Pembroke Pines, fl! First, the table that we were seated at the hostess wiped down because it needed to be cleaned, the booth was tight for\r five people! We asked if we be seated at the booth behind us and she stated that it seats 8 people and they needed to save it just in case a large party came in!! Well, we are African-American and about 30 minutes sitting there waiting a Hispanic decent with a party of four was seated at that same table that was for 8 people by the same hostess that told us that information! We saw the manager and asked him about the table, "He stated that, "they were waiting for 4 more people to arrive", now they were already sitting at the table for about 30 minutes and they were eating their food. We watched and they got up and left once they finished eating and the other 4 people never showed up (we knew that was a lie when he told us, oh and yes, he was a white manager). The food: my sister ordered a burger w/o their special sauce, w/wedge fries, when her food got to the table, the burger was medium rare, regular fries w/the special sauce, everyone else ordered the shrimp pasta, dry, dry, dry & disgusting!! No one was happy w/ their food at all!! The waitress was really nice & she informed the manager & he came over to the table & only spoke to my sister about her burger when we all had complaints!! He came over later to give us gift cards because he knew how unpleasant the service was & we left those cards on the table & we will never go to this restaurant ever again!! The treatment & service was horrible besides the pleasantness of the waitress!! If your African-American, please BEWARE!!! Terrible!! more

The ambiance is great. Service was fantastic and our food arrived very fast. We ordered the clam chowder, it was creamy with lots of clams. We also ordered a burger a ribs. The burger was pretty good but the ribs were horrible. It had a refrigerator taste and cold. Despite the bad ribs, I would definitely come again. more

The food here is great! The fish tacos are my favorite! A lot of menu items are great! The tomato bisque soup is excellent! The beer is also really good!We love coming here but now we are questioning returning because the service is poor! It takes a long time for the server to even ask for drinks. They are very slow and they don't even apologize for poor service! more

My wife and I went and I tried the 8 beer sampler, and liked every beer except the Porter. My wife really liked the Belgium style beer. The food was very good and the wait staff was very friendly and professional . The decor was also to our liking big open spaces with alot of TV's. more

Mediocre food, horrible service. \r \r We waited 15 minutes to take our drink orders, didn't have an assigned server, food came out slow. Three hours at the restaurant. more

Never Again!\r Place is beautiful but it's a shame that the service and the portion size are horrible. Servers seem like they had not been trained properly. Drinks took 15min to get, portion sizes were small and food was average. Things might change later on but I had the worst possible experience. Don't go! more

We went with a group of friends to enjoy some different beers. \r The hostess acted like she did not want to be there; was on her cell phone texting instead of greeting us.\r The restaurant was half empty and they still made us wait for about 20 minutes. The waiter acted like he \r was doing us a favor, we had to ask him for refills 2-3 times cause he kept forgetting. Food was no good, \r don't think we will be going back here. what i disappointment. more

The food wasn't good, the food wasn't bad, it was the most dreaded of all descriptions...BLAND. While the atmosphere was actually nice, the service was slow. Chili's has better food and service than this joint. more

Being a chain, expectations were set accordingly. They met pretty well. Food was good, not great (some dishes were very salty), and service was not impressive. Our waitress had no personality and acted as if we were a chore for her to overcome. None of our special requests were done (ex. Shrimp left on the skewer). I'd be willing to give it another try, but I'm thinking it's best to just enjoy some of the microbrews. more

We last visited BJs back in the beginning of January. Today's food was definitely not as good. Originally, we had plans to go to Outbacks but the wait a definitely too long. We decided to give BJs another try. Our service was OK. not great but not bad either. We ordered ribs to share and a few other items. The salad received great review but then again the person who ate it eats and loves everything (in other words, not a reliable food critic). The rack of ribs, although very large, left little to be desired. We were expecting meat to be falling of the rib. Tha was certainly not the case. The taste was nt that great either. The baked potato was also very large but was certainly not hot. The butter did not even try to melt. The potato skins that we ordered as appetizer as well as the Caesar Salad were very good. My sons's kids chicken tender with mashed potato looked vey good and he ate most of it. I would come back again but certainly not to eat ribs. I will give them one more chance to excel, otherwise, they get bounced off my. List. more

I eat at Bjs every weekend and its got to the point where the blonde host at the front even remembers my name. I give the girl a lot of credit she always seems so calm and has a smile even though theres a line out the door and people throwing pagers in her face. I must say they do have great front of house staff but some of the servers need a little more training. The food is great and I also enjoy going during happy hour specials. I will continue coming here. more

Great family restaurant. Was surprised how low the bill was and how good the food was. My daughter ate her whole kids pizza (and she is a very picky eater). The handcrafted sodas were delicious. Staff was friendly an quick. Would definiatly eat here again. more

There appetizers are pretty gOod. The chicken wontons are fab! But their pizza to me is so so. I've had better. more

1st and only visit was a party of 3 on a Friday. I was told approx. An hour wait. I was happy however we waited. What! We waited an hour and 45 minutes. Hostess acted like "oh well!". Set your guest expectations and perhaps they may return. Food was good, the waiter did a great job. Not pleased with the staff in the front. May be a training issue. more

Our party of 4 arrived at 11:55am tuesday, left at 1:50pm.....service was terrible, had to get hostess to get our server after waiting 15 min, place was NOT crowded, finally got 3 of 4 waters and only 3 of 4 drinks, (never offered refills) had to ask for EVERYTHING!!! Complained to the manager (who we asked to process our bill after waiting for the server who left the bill and never returned) he said he was sorry and wished he had known about this sooner! Shouldn't the manager of a new restaurant be checking the with customers periodically anyway???? Will not go back!! more

Meh! I give this place 6 months before they close or change the name. The food is mediocre, the service is the same. With the Ale House across the street I don't see them making it more

Visited recently for happy hour. Great appetizers and drinks. Love the decor, I will have to return for dinner. more
