We stopped by last Thursday 11/4/10 for the prime rib. The rib was somewhat OK but tough. Potatoes were bland as was the unflavored broccoli mess on the plate and the food wasn't hot. I did enjoy the onion soup but it was missing the crouton. Salad was just lettuce on a plate. No inspiration of any kind showing in preparing this meal. One cannot make a cook care about what they do and the preparer of the meal couldn't have been a chef. While dining, thunder like noises of furniture set up on the third level that was directly over our head was most disturbing and thoughtless. I will pass on a return for rib.\r

The following Sunday I went to the once a month brunch. What a fiasco. The food line wasn't ready when it was supposed to be and everyone waited for that job to be completed. I had Eggs Benedict with egg cooked correctly but with a thin sauce of some kind and not hot. French toast so cold the already softened butter didn't melt after spreading. The sausage was great but not hot. The slice of prime rib was cold and tough. Nothing was hot except the clam chowder which was too salty (but otherwise quite good). The tomato juice was at room temperature (it was cold in the dining room). A bite of Danish was like eating a dough ball. As stated, the food wasn't ready when the brunch was supposed to start. They had what looked like a nice chicken dish and a swordfish with shrimp dish. My brunch partner noted the fish was overcooked, bland and not hot. Who wants a cold brunch? They had a chocolate fountain they were loading with chocolate when the line was supposed to be open and the strawberries came out an hour after opening the line, as we were leaving. Desert table was a disgusting array of what looked like supermarket purchased cookies and vegetables (for what?) and nothing to put into the still warming chocolate fountain. Really, it was awful, particularly for the price. If everything had been on line when it was supposed to be, properly cooked, and hot as appropriate it could have been more acceptable. We'd never go back. As for the review by Patrick... You need to get out more often and eat in nice places before you berate others for their negative experience at this trough. I can't believe that two visits yielded the same nasty results for me but after having read the more knowledgeable critics, I certainly agree with their negative assessments. It's no accident. This is a business that cares a lot less than it should regarding the quality of food, customer satisfaction, and service. At $20 per person for the brunch we felt taken. If this restaurant was located in Providence it would not survive a week. Our waitress, Lori was wonderful but service requires more attention to the details of presenting the properly prepared food, on time. That's a management problem. Aside from Lori, the only high point for me on both days was the entertainment. Very nice sound. Otherwise the place is all fluff and no substance at all. If you’re stuck in Westport or give positive reviews based on your relationship with the establishment (as one reviewer on another site does), you have my sympathy. Otherwise your money would be better spent elsewhere. It appears from the mixed reviews they are inconsistent at best but when they are bad, they are truly atrocious. There is absolutely no reason for poor customer service. Never again.\r
