Civilization at Last! 6/14/2006

Ah, a chilled glass of crisp, subtly fruity wine paired with a perfectly warmed chevre and potato cake enjoyed in a pretty, courtyard patio - in a word, civilized! This start to a delightful evening, in a pleasant home-like atmosphere, served by a friendly staff, set the tone for my first visit to Bistro Sofia. I've returned to this quiet neighborhood jewel on many occasions - all equally enjoyable. One of the few restaurants around that can boast a trained chef, high-quality ingredients, including some grown on site, and impeccable service. The wine list is not to be missed. Salut! more

Best French Cuisine in Greensboro 3/30/2006

Located in what appears to be a renovated private house, this upscale French Bistro has great food and great service. There is an outdoor patio in back with plenty of seating. Pomme Frites appetizer is yummily sprinkled with white truffle oil, portion was huge! If you enjoy french food, this is the only place to go in Greensboro. May be a little hard to find off of Dolly Madison in the Guilford College area (near Friendly Ave. and Guilford College Rd.) Parking was also a little tight. Pros: Food, Atmosphere Cons: Parking more

Perfection! 12/7/2004

My husband and I drive over an hour to go to Bistro Sofia. The chef is a genius. We have never been there when we didn't leave saying that it was the most incredible meal we have ever had. The wine list is as good, if not better, than those in top restaurants in major cities. He has really done his homework and there is not a bad wine on the list. The service is impeccable, as most of the wait staff has been there for quite awhile. You must try this restaurant. more
