We were visiting for the day from Southern CA. We are spoiled at times with wonderful culinary creations. I was not sure what to expect in a small town.
I am sooo glad that we chose to have dinner at The Bistro ! Their fall menu made it challenging to make a decision. I am still smiling over the meal, days later.
App: bruschetta with soft cheese (think it was goat), butternut squash, mushrooms, sage.
Entree: Butternut squash risotto with duck, with a maple glaze and crispy sage.
Dessert: Rice pudding with cherries & Flourless chocolate torte with nut crust (think pecans or hazelnut) and blackberries.
We are not food snobs, as you can tell..I don't remember the type of cheese or mushrooms...but we both Savored every bite! It was one of the most flavorful and satisfying comfort meals I've had in a long time. They had an amazing wine-list too ! (we had to drive, so did not partake)
The service was very enjoyable, friendly but not suffocating. Food presentation was beautiful too.
We sat near a fire at a table for two.
What a wonderful introduction to Sandpoint, ID.
Thank you!
