Good restaurant, helpful and funny staff (we got a waiter named Don). The chocolate soup won't disappoint the most die-hard chocoholics. The sirloin steak is very, very good. more

Buried treasure 10/3/2002

I've heard of Bistro 45 many years ago. Not until last year when I was 7 months pregnant, my husband and I decided to try it out. The experience was so unique, we've been back almost every month since then. The service is excellent. The atmosphere is great, the food is perfect every time. The staffs are wonderful! There is not enough words to describe our experience. Food lovers definitely should it out! Pros: inexpensive, variety on menu, valet parking Cons: crowded lunch more

This was absolutely the best meal I have ever had in Los Angeles. The calamari, sirloin and chocolate soup were all excellent. It is well worth the money more

Unbelievably GREAT! 7/26/2002

From the host/hostess to the service down to the busboys is GREAT. Not to even mention the food that is prepared to perfection! I have enjoyed this little hideout -- very romantic -- for over 4 years now and am glad to see that the word is out about how GREAT it is!!! more

Hidden away 5/19/2002

Hidden away behind the hussle and bussle of Old Town Pasadena is this gem. You have to experience it go truly appreciate what a great restaurant this is. Really really good food. I can't say enough about this place. more

My Favorite restaurant! 5/19/2002

Whenever I want to go out for something special (important date, birthday, parents in town, etc) Bistro 45 is my pick. I've only had terrific meals here, the wine list is great, the staff is very knowledgeable and friendly, and the owner pays special attention to folks, and often offers to buy an after dinner drink. Chocolate souop is a winning dessert!!! Pros: local, cozy more

The dishes that come from the kitchen are durable enough, but hardly a thrill. It all seems to be about the wine list, which is an impressive one, but the rest of the experience is blandly forgettable. more
