I agree with the earlier review on the academics, but the part about the athletics must have been written a long time ago. Bishop has excelled in sports during the past 5 years that we have been at the school. They have won the Wachovia cup almost every year for their division. Their basketball teams, especially the girls, have won numerous state and conference championships, and their varsity football team has been awesome for the past few years. I do not know of a public school that offers so many options either in sports. more

Excellent Academics for the money 11/27/2005

Bishop McGuinness is an excellent educational value in the local private school world. It has a tremendous academic reputation and the students are top notch. They have an excellent performing arts department at the school and wonderful new facilities. The only knock on the school is that the athletic department is average at best. If you are into sports and wanting to compete in college I would look at one of the other schools in the area, especially in football, basketball, and baseball. more

  • Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School is a four-year coeducational Catholic school with a college preparatory curriculum. Bishop McGuinness has a tradition of spiritual and academic excellence and provides its students with community atmosphere. The school offers opportunities for spiritual growth through retreats, liturgies and prayer services. All students participate in community service as a requirement for graduation. The school s performing arts program includes choral and instrumental music courses. The instrumental program includes two performances annually in addition to providing support to two drama productions. The fine arts program includes instruction in a variety of media including photography.
