Great Experiences 7/27/2014

Dr. Mata and his staff were very friendly and accommodating each time I visited the office at Lourdes Tower. I have been there at least 6 times regarding my medically necessary eyelid surgery, and it was pleasant each time. Dr. Mata has a friendly bed side manner and a good sense of humor. During my surgery, he kept my husband informed and relaxed. I was saddened to see the reviews that said otherwise. I also had an emergency last 4th of July while Dr. Mata was on vacation. The attending physician called his emergency number and Doc stayed on the line the entire time to walk the emergency room doctor through the process of stitching me up. I cannot say enough about him and his friendly staff. more

Did a decent job 12/28/2005

I had a pretty nasty slice on my arm that needed surgery. I went to the ER and they Doctor that did the surgery was Armando Mata. I cant really complain about any of the work that he did as the scar is minimal for the 80 or so stitches it took to close me up. My only complaint is his personality. He really is not a people person. He lacks compassion and friendliness. Usually if someone is in pain, the Dr. should be nice.. He was far from nice. But like I said he did a good job on the site. more

Not happy with referral 11/29/2005

This doctor was a referral. I was not pleased with his examination of the area I was having a problem with that kept continually bleeding. He never touched the area, even with gloves on but yet he wanted to set up a date to operate on the area. His diagnosis of the problem was more of a guess of his by his sight observations. I walked away from his office not trusting him to take care of my problem. I was insulted that I had to pay for his expensive charges especially since he didn't even properly examine the problem area. Research doctors before you make appointments with them no matter who refers them to you. more
