I went to Dr. Phelps for years for adult acne and so did my teenage to early twenties son. Neither of us saw any imrovements. She put him on antibiotics way too long and none of her expensive creams worked for me. Recently, my 21 yr old son went in for Accutane. She said she didn't prescribe that but something looks funny on his shoulder. Without talking to me, his mom and her patient, she cut it out of him and left out the (major) money part. She promised a day to have the biopsy back and could care less that it took much longer...as if I wasn't stressed at all about it. It's all about money there...and no heart....and NO improvement. My new dermo couldn't beleive all the things we haven't tried yet and we are all cleared up after two weeks! (Dr. Batra to the rescue). more

Dr. Phelps has excellent bedside manner and a wealth of experience. She has treated me for everything from acne to precancerous mole removals. Her skill in surgery rivals that of a plastic surgeon, so that it leaves little scarring. She is both thorough and efficient--had to wait no time at all for my appointment. She also returns phone calls promptly and seems to care a great deal about her patients. After seeing a number of dermatologists throughout my life, I can honestly and knowledgeably say that Dr. Phelps is the best in the greater L.A. area. more
