My sister Joan and I decided to throw a 50th wedding anniversary party for our parents in the traditional way – by making it a gold party. We rented the banquet room at our country club and decorated the whole place in gold accents – cream and gold streamers, gold candles, gold wrapping paper, you name it. We even had luminaria along the walkway with lights in the trees! I was worried the photographer we hired from Bill Mitchell Photography wouldn’t be able to take photos of our parents and guests in the beautiful courtyard outside since it was a late afternoon/evening party – but he pulled it off wonderfully!\r \r We are so happy we decided to hire Scott, the photographer. He truly is an artist who has a wonderful sense of lighting and accents. He captured all of our guests in the courtyard and some absolutely perfect candid shots inside the reception area. Since Joan and I are both on strict budgets, we were quite pleased that the photographer was willing to customize the package to suit our budget – it was surprisingly affordable! And the best part of all – our parents were so pleased and touched with the event – they’ve already shared their photo albums with all their friends! And Joan and I were happy we didn’t have to deal with the hassle of working with an unprofessional photographer. Not only was Scott always available to answer our questions while we were planning the event – he made sure our parents got the photo albums right away! \r more

My wife and I finally decided to hire Bill Mitchell Photography to do our wedding. My wife, bless her heart, is very very picky. She wanted the best of the best. Scott Mitchell did the actual photos, and they are amazing. The wedding itself was huge. My wife and I only remember seeing Scott a couple of times and one of those were for posed photos. Other than that, it seemed like he wasn't even there. But when we saw the proofs, it was like he was everywhere. He took great shots of both the serious and the hilarious moments. One of my favorite pictures was of my wife's three year old niece totally crashed out after dancing the night away with my brother's five year old son. She was sitting at a table with her arms around a plate with a half eaten piece of cake and her cheek lying flat on the plate. \r \r My wife's favorite picture of the whole wedding was of me saying, “I do”. She had tears of joy streaming down her face that matched my own tears. No one can look at that picture without feeling an upsurge of emotion as if you're actually standing there watching. The best thing that I can say about this company is that their prices compare well to some other photographers in the area. Otherwise, there are a bunch or key problems. The personalities of some of their photographers are terrible, their photos are boring at best, and they are a nightmare to work with after the wedding. We got our albums after about 22 months......and sadly.......it was not worth the wait. The photos were bland and the album itself does not impress. more

Scott and John of Bill Mitchell photography were hired to photograph our wedding in late June. John and Scott were prompt, polite, efficient and reliable on the day of our wedding. They managed to get fantastic pictures of every aspect of our day without making it feel like they were following my husband and I around. Shortly after the wedding we received the website link for our proofs as well as the hard copy proofs. They were fantastic! They captured so many different aspects of the day and I am so thankful we hired them. We had certain shots that we wanted and Scott and John happily arranged these shots. If you want particular shots taken, it is your job as the bride to tell the photographer. They are not mind readers and do not know who you want to have pictures taken with! I have absolutely nothing negative to say about Bill Mitchell photography and would strongly recommend them to brides in the area. more

Bill Mitchell was by far the worst vendor we hired for our wedding day. Our photographer was rude and despite me asking for candid wedding photos in my many meetings with Scott all I got were some boring portraits. By looking at my photos you would not know that I had many guests, or that my side of the family even attended. I don't have any pictures with my brothers or even a group family shot of me and my husband's family together. It has been about a year since my wedding and whenever I look at my pictures it still makes my stomach turn. I have tried to get in contact several times with Scott regarding my disappointment but he does not respond (now that he has my money). My album took forever and it looks awful. I'm paying someone else to redo my album with the photos from my wedding that I edited myself (because they are incapable of editing also). Go elsewhere! You can not re-do your wedding after the fact. more
