I visited several times a few months ago when I was in town for business and learned that my Bikram studio at home is something to be treasured. Bikram Aventura was dirty, damp, and smelled of dirty dogs in the studio area. There was even a used band-aid on the floor near my mat., and during class, the rude instructor accused me of dropping it there when he happened upon it in the middle of class. The same instructor left the room several times and even loudly popped open the exterior door and stood outside during practice (cardinal sins at my home studio). The other instructors were much more mild-mannered, but one of them left the room to answer the phone as well. There is no proper locker room (you can put your purse/bag on a shelf in the studio area). Still, I was able to clear my mind for much of the class and focus on my practice. If I'm back in the area again, I will drive further to go to a different and hopefully more professional and sanitary studio.
