Great independent theater in central mass 3/24/2006

This theater is great for independent films. They have a little restaurant right in the lobby and you can have free popcorn with any movie. We went here for a fund raiser and we socialized and then there was a movie after wards. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that Worcester had an independent theater. But unfortunately, I think the business is near closing because the whole mall is being torn down. It is sad to see an art house movie theater being torn down. more

A great place to go for some classics! 8/20/2005

The Bijou Cinema is a nice little theater that showcases classic movies. The artwork decorating the lobby area is always interesting to look at and they have a nice little concession stand for refreshments. Oftentimes, they will also have some live music on the weekends. This is a great place to go to relax, watch a movie and enjoy a little something different. more

Not your ordinary theater 8/10/2005

The Bijou is unique for a few reasons. They show mostly independent films, some foreign ones, and some classics. The seats aren't standard movie theater fare, but almost like couches - they even have coffee tables! You get free popcorn for the shows and you can order beers from the bar. Really a neat place. I definitely recommend it. Go see something other than the big budget tech demos that pass for movies elsewhere.. more
